Dude, seriously listen to these people. Don't go an RS250 for your 1st bike. I was talked out of it and I'm glad. Your lying through your teeth if you say you wont go fast on one. These things are license loosing material. It WILL NOT let you ride it slowly.
The RS250 and its sister bike the RGV250 earned the name "Kid Killers" for a reason. The amount of times i have heard the story "I bought an RGV for my 1st bike n smashed it 3 days later" is honestly unbelievable!
I went from a GPX250, to an RS125, to my now current RGV250.
I wouldn't have done it any other way. And for a well looked after RS250, id expect to pay upwards of $7.5G.
Go a ZX2C if you can find one. It will be more than enough to keep you entertained whilst you learn. You get your license, and you still have a shit load to learn for the next 6 months.
In the end its your call. But i strongly advise against getting an RS250 for your 1st bike. The RS125 kept me entertained for 2 years, and i wanted to keep it till i croaked! Unfortunately it was written off a few months ago.
