I'm probably guilty of splitting at too high a speed sometimes. The more you do it the more your confidence grows. Sometimes your confidence grows more than it should and a reassessment of the risk is required.

I am very mindful of gaps bid enough for cars though, as has been said before. And high beams and as low a gear as possible. A loud zorst helps too.
