Calvin: I find that disturbingly hard to believe..! But who knows, the world is a strange place and maybe it is true. I mean, it's not as if Ducati are going to send a fax to Yamaha HQ saying \"we're going to Rossi $15m, please don't bid $17.5m otherwise we might lose him\".
Racing's a strange world, and who knows - maybe Ducati are satisified that Capirossi & Bayliss are getting as much as they can out of the new bike.. though IMHO they'd be crazy not to want the world's best rider in recent memory. Anything's possible...
I'm keen to see who Aprilia are going to ride with - after all, Rossi said he's doing \"something crazy\". I know there's a seat left at Kawasaki (I believe McCoy has left, Pitt stays) and Aprilia (Haga & Edwards left, Byrne has signed). No idea on whether or not Suzuki are retaining Hopkins & Roberts... similarly, Rossi could even end up on a Proton! From one V5 to another.

True in what your saying. Ducati and Yamaha are not going to inform each other on whats going on!
But just like Dion has contacts still in Moto GP so do others, and some people that work for one team have mates in other teams, and thats how information gets out prior to release!
Pretty simple
Dion has not worked for Red bull Yamaha for 4 to 5 years and same goes for TSR, but still rings them up and stays in contact. By doing this he keeps the door open for further job offers (like this year).
Remember this rumour hour this time of year for GP & Superbikes. :?
