Dunno if this has been done before but I wouldn't mind broadening my horizons and watching films that people in this community recommend.
Doesnt have to be a blockbuster action flik like transformers (although I've heard that good

), just an interesting/provocative/intruiging film that you would recommend your friends to watch. As of late i've been looking away from the high-budget blockbuster and looking for interesting independent films and documentaries.
I just watched "The Bridge (2006)"

This is a documentary exploration of the mythic beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge, the most popular suicide destination in the world, and those drawn by its call. Steel and his crew filmed the bridge during daylight hours from two separate locations for all of 2004, recording most of the two dozen deaths in that year (and preventing several others). They also taped interviews with friends, families and witnesses, who recount in sorrowful detail stories of struggles with depression, substance abuse and mental illness. Raises questions about suicide, mental illness and civic responsibility as well as the filmmaker's relationship to his fraught and complicated material.[/b]

Suicide is a very sensitive subject that touches the lives of many people and I cant help but feel torn between 2 opinions on the matter: 1) suicide is a completely selfish act that destroys the friends and family of those involved AND 2) that the person could not end his/her suffering by any other means and such suffering is possibly a sever mental illness (bi-polar, severe depression, schitzophrenia) of which there are not many effective medical treatments.
It's a tad obscure idea, of filming the bridge for a whole year only to document the demise of the poor souls and also interview those family and friends left behind.
but enough of that..... what films do you recommend other PSBians should view to open their minds?
