A quick search for the Oregon Scientific cameras (ATK 2000, I think) will show someone here was flogging them through his work for a couple hundred or so with a 2GB card.
I had one. It's nicely waterproof, lightweight, simple and cheap. Only downside is trying to line it up with such a small field of view - I shot a lot of footage of the sky or the road going past. If you are gonna get one, it would be well worth your investment to strap a laser pointer on the side so you can line things up properly.
