Bummer. I suggest you get there with plenty of time to spare and have a practise run/warmup beforehand. That way you will be warmed up and have time to settle your nerves.

Protective gear is certainly worth the money but as they say, prevention is better than cure - especially if avoiding a 'small error' saves your life!
