Why would he be stupid to say he was brake checked? It would be a very simple thing to check. The telemetry recordings would show if Rossi braked sooner or harder. It is all recorded these days.
And I have watched it again, and to me it looked like Casey went in too hot (as he himself admitted). But hey, what do I know?
