If it's above the top line, but below the top of the sight glass I wouldn't worry.

Above the sight glass, it gets very dependent on bike model. On the suzuki fours, for example, the top of the glass is pretty close to the level at which your crankshaft is splashing in the oil, which is bad.

Safer than sorry, would be my call - drop a bit out.
