Not to mention the Mac Mini really isn't for "us" (i.e. you Captain Starfish). Given your knowledge you could whip up a home brew setup for next and stuff all effort including buying the parts yourself (probably buy a new small form factor case and mobo, then source second hand older hardware). Combine with a cracked version of Server 2008 and bobs your Uncle... who the fuck would want a Mac Mini right?
But as the esteemed Italian above points out, compare the Apples to "apples" and you'll probably find they aren't half bad
