    Question Does this look normal?

    G'day,

I'm something of a noob, but looking at buying a Hyosung GV 250 for the wife. It's being sold by a local, private seller.

Overall, the bike looks mechanically sound - one female owner, regularly serviced (the bike, that is) - but on closer inspection I found a lot of oil on the lower frame under the engine casing.

The other bike I'm looking at is much cleaner. Is this a sign of a possible leak or gasket failure or something.

I'll get a mechanic to give the bike which I'd like to buy a good going over, but I don't want to waste money on a mobile mechanic if there's something really obvious going on.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like goo from the chain that has run down onto the frame. Can you see any oil/goo under the casing, or is it just on the frame?

    Stephan,

Thanks for the feedback. It was just on the frame. The casing was relatively clean.

Is that the breather tube just to the right of the oil? If it is that may be were the oil is coming from.

I would think it's from the chain...
