    Why all the different degrees

Why do the different manufacturers choose such different v angles?

Are closer or further apart cylinders better?

All the angles used have their good and bad points.
The angle of the V dictates how it can be fuelled, how the exhaust can exit, the height and length of the frame.
If the engine is mounted transverse,it affects the width of the bike and how far forward the footpegs can be mounted
Generally, the further apart they are,the easier it is to cool the rear cylinder.
The more upright the cyl are,the more compact the engine, but this can produce vibration.

Carberry Enfield have crammed their 1000cc Vtwin into the 500cc single cyl frame using a 55 degree angle.
