    2) your tinted visor is illegal 3 points and $100 as not shatter proof.
    3) your yoshi exhausts are illegal remove them
    4) your rear pegs are illegal as you have have no passenger seat remove them.

The bike is 4 weeks old off the show room floor brand new... not my day oh my bike is a Suzuki Hayabusa.... guess he doesn't like sport bikes.

Have checked with Suzuki and they have never heard of no rear pegs before and never heard of illegal tinted visor and not been shatter proof. Went to a number of bike shops today and looked at brand new helmets and the visors ALL state "Not warranted shatterproof. I have a Shoei and checked may other brands and all the same so what do you do? and no rear foot pegs what the hell!!!!!!! Not a happy vegemite
Were you actually informed or given an infringement notice?

I am interested as my visor is tinted came with the helmet that way, I have tinted screen, that you can't look through anyway then theres the exhaust. I do not like to give them a chance to pick stupid issues so would like to avoid giving him the pleasure.

PS was that you at Toodyay last Sunday? If so your riding and the noise of your bike makes absolutely no reason to be picked on. I thought who ever the lady on the white Busa was, her riding was exemlpary for the time and conditions.
Not at all like the "missing links" riding with no visors on contraptions I refuse to accept as being with in the definition of "motorcycle" did, stopping all conversation in the Coke Cafe as they made as much antisocial noise as they could taking off.

Pity police do not target the ones who deliberatly cause offence their with anti social actions.

What a crock. Please take the time to be very clear with facts of matter and write to the commissioner. He is a bike rider........wonder if his visor is legal??

Anyways this is why I always buy clear ones for the road helmets and use sunnies. They are less likely to look even if it is an import. Out of four arai helmets, I have two with AS stamped visors. ironically they are the two Ducati helmets!

Need to look into legal clauses on this one. Next time just stop and take the visor off, voila, problem solvered. what visor officer??
Patrol officers such as these are just power mongers coz they don't have any say in their normal lives on the basis that they don't have the skills/intelligence to sustain reasoned argument. pretty much control freaks like rapists but on the other side of the law. eventually they get their own back, it's just that people like you and I suffer in the meantime. That's why it is so important to ask why he acted in the manner he did and for clarity on the law as applied to visors and pillion pegs (but ensure that it is accurate to a tee, don't provide any opinion or supposition). These people need to be removed by the people they are meant to be serving. the more people who quote an officers badge number the harder it is to brush off at HQ. Of course this is a bit harder when there was a shortfall on your behalf (lucky not be stickered....)

Just a random thought........I can't help wondering if coppers like the prick who pulled you over make outrageous comments like he did, and issue semi-bullshit fines purely to provoke reaction here???

    Imagine the scene, at the local police station getting ready for work;

Plod Smelly, "Hey, my fine last week prompted 4 pages of outrage on PSB. Not bad, hey?"
Plod Stinky, "Not bad, but not as good as my 6 pages last month. You have to try harder."
Plod Smelly, "O.K. Today, I'll fine a rider for not having one and a half litres of water in his windscreen washer bottle. That's got to be worth 8 pages, surely"

Yeah just had a look at my visors, the new FF5 Iridium has "Not Warranted Shatterproof" and "Only for Daytime Use" but no sticker but then I did buy it from OS The clear one that came with the helmet also has "Not Warranted Shatterproof" stamped on it as well as the AS logo stamped in it AND an AS sticker

On my old Aeroblade II the Iridium had an AS sticker when bought from a shop here but I removed it as it was badly positioned in my peripheral vision and also has "Only for Daytime Use" stamped in it but nothing regards shatter-proofing The original clear had the AS logo stamped in it AND an AS sticker but nothing regards shatter-proofing and the 2nd clear just had the AS stamp no sticker and nothing regards shatter-proofing and it also was bought from a shop here

Funny thing is the original screen had a large vinyl sticker thing which says, If shield is stamped "Only for Daytime Use" it shouldn't be used at night or in bad light conditions "dur" BUT does state it is designed to be able to be used in the raised position if needed

Don't complicate things. Your equipment is either fully compliant with the Australian Standards, or it isn't. If it isn't, then you can be challenged by the police.

The only part of the whole story that really sucks is the issue of bike shops selling bikes to unknowing people with non-compliant parts already installed.

which almost bring us to FEs. I recall a thread about a guy here @ PSB who purchased a brand new bike, rode it home, and got pinged for not having a compliant rear fender.

As has been said before...lucky a 'licky wasn't issued. Pricks can slap those on you for breathing at the wrong time. Hate Oxygen thieves...and this douche mentioned in the OP's post is right up with the best of them.

It may be some sort of initiative from our friends in blue, green, whatever.

Had a couple of cops have a real good look at me yesterday in Mandurah while waiting at the lights. I was riding a bog stock bike with no aftermarket bits on it. They kept looking at me as they passed through the intersection and I was wondering wtf they were so interested in?

Reading this thread last night reminded me that I use an Iridium visor on my Shark.

Shit I got a warm fuzzy feeling that they were so concerned with my safety and well being. [cough]

Please don't let this rest - if your helmet doesn't comply then there's not much you can do about the fine, but the rest of the police officer's behaviour needs to be reported.

If the copper in question gets a please explain from his superiors, it might make him think twice about being a cokehead to the next bike rider that rolls through town at 4km/h under the speed limit.

For the avoidance of doubt can you please confirm, where you actually infringed? or did PC Plod just threaten that you could be infringed?

Cost the way I am reading your OP you are implying the earlier, but it was actually the latter and he was just trying to put the shits up you (nothing new). Can you confirm please.

unfortunately the judge just throws it out the window and its done. I wanted to charge the cop with perjury and even the judge knew he was fkn lying but its done and they move on no repercussions.

Or it might make him just hate motorcycles a little bit more so he will find even more stupid shit to stop and harass people over.

Please take the time to remind cops that pull you over for crap like this that they are 'Public Servants' and that you are a member of the 'Public'

Yeah, I can see that working wonders...

Anyone else been pulled over, standing by the side of the road getting that sanctimonious bullshit lecture, just totally tuned out of the dribble and stood wondering whether you were quick enough to pull the fuckwit's sidearm and put him out of everyone's misery?

The guy who pulls you over for this kind of shit isn't going to listen to reason, he's too high on the rush of his authoritah...

Just doing a little bit of research and found this traffic act. It matches the fine and demerit points you got.

244.Drivers and pillion passengers upon motor cycles to wear protective helmets
    (1)In this regulation—
protective helmet means a helmet that is, or is of a standard or type that is, approved by the Director General, for the purposes of this regulation, by notice in the Gazette.
(2)A person shall not drive a motor cycle unless*—
(a)that person is wearing securely on his or her head a protective helmet; and
(b)where any other person is riding or being carried on the motor cycle, that other person is wearing a protective helmet securely on his or her head.
    Points: 3Modified penalty: 2 PU

That refers to the helmet as a whole, not the visor.
