Are BMW still the only manufacturer putting ABS on their bikes?
I'm aware that other bikes have sophisticated force distribution setups, but does anyone else have a system where you can jump on the anchors as hard as you want and you won't lock it

Harley have ABS on their bikes

Don't alot of bikes have ABS now? Even sport bikes. Or is it a different form of brake control and people just call it 'ABS' Because everyone knows that that is.
Work to ride, and ride to work.

here you go, have a look at this.
List of motorcycles with ABS : VicRoads
There's probably more out there.
Work to ride, and ride to work.
honda have it on a couple of sports bikes as well as tourers, kawasaki and suzuki even have it on standard model bikes now, it's becoming common as mud.
it's the basic slotted rotor and hall effect sensor, computer detects a lock and pulses the brake, it will still increase stopping distance when activated, you will still need to have basic riding skills but yes you can snatch the lever pretty much as hard as you like and expect to have stopping power rather than a sliding tyre.
Do you remember the good old days before the internet?
when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.
Even 250's have abs.
Haha, that's the post I was waiting for
It's been around since late 90's / early 00's in at least hondas (probably earlier)
Even available on there 250cc bike now. Not to mention scooters, cruisers, boats oops, goldwings...
season 2012 is coming.....
First person to turn this into another abs is bad discussion is a rotten egg.
Suzuki DL650 abs. Have one downstairs atm , and you can jump on the skids should you feel like it. It sort of kicks back with a pulse if it is working hard, and won't lock.
I heard in Europe it wont be long before all new bikes will be required to carry ABS. Much like the emissions restrictions, as we progress into the future manufacturers will be forced to improve safety. This is definitely a great thing.

Think of it as improving the motorcycle,
The safety part is always up to the rider.

Improving the motorcycle?
Don't you mean "watering down the skills of the rider"...
Abs won't (shouldn't) limit the riders ability, but kick in when the arse-hat makes a fuck up.
Personally, dont know if I would choose it (even assuming same price and weight)
I have locked the front before, but did react quick enough to release, so question the necessity. Having said that, would I have come out any worse with it? Maybe it's a good fail safe?
Tough choice.
season 2012 is coming.....

Someone will build a work around box/switch if you so desire and your manufacturer doesn't supply one
Fine. Go out and practice endlessly at night on a bumpy, slippery, WET, poorly surfaced, poorly -lit piece of bitumen with the rain covering your visor, and oncoming headlights in your eyes, and polish up those skills..... or get ABS. But, I guess, ABS won't let you do stoppies...
