Then have a strip of plastic at each side that follows along flush with the swingarm, down to a point just past the front of the wheel.

When I made that picture I had no idea BMW was doing it already, and the fact that their bikes pass ADRs is proof of concept. I'm thinking of something along the same lines but as small and unobtrusive as possible whilst still conforming to the laws.

the reflector thing i think is fair enough.
    2 things:
    arent number plates reflective?
is there such a thing as a nice looking reflector, or are they all the standard red rectangular boring looking piece of plastic?
    Respect is earned, not enforced.

glorified rail cops, if you ask me...

glad to see they caught a real criminal, aren't they always complaining at how short staffed they are ? I call bullshit - cos if a reflector on the back of a motorbike is their biggest priority.. they're trying to look busy, without actually doing much..

Why would a tinted screen on a bike even be considered Yellow worthy??? Its not like the rider is looking through it or its blocking a cop from seeing the rider.

That refelector story is a load of crap! What about the giant fucking tail light???

Does anyone know where one would find an extended hugger (Similar to the gryphen job? To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't mind having the extended hugger with a little reflector strip along the bottom of the fender lim. Face it, it's better than having the huge ugly mudgard.......

A couple of notes that I made whilst reading these threads:

Carbon fiber parts on bikes - Ducati 1098S comes std with carbon front mud guard, whilst the 1098R comes standard with carbon everything (almost) and both meet ADR compliance.

Tinted screens - the Ducati 906 / 907 came out with a painted screen to match the body work - you couldn't see through it at all - and they met ADR compliance also.

I think constable care is sprouting ill informed bullshit. Sorry if I relate everything to Ducati, but it's what I know.

I can tell you that the story about insurance failing to pay out because of a missing reflector is a crock of shit, absolute lies, that never and could not happen without negligence laws!@

I can also tell you on a proper construction of the relevant ADR< your little idea will not work, the mudgaurd has to extend from the foremost part of the rear wheel (ie the top) to no higher than the intersection of the arc of the mudgaurd with a lne drawn 45 degrees from horizontal,

ie the whole arc from the top of the wheel to that magical 45 degree line must be filled by mudgaurd OR THE TAIL of the bike

CF is not illegal. But it doesn`t matter what`s illegal or what`s legal. If a cop deems it to be unsafe, they can sticker you. But if it`s a total load of bull, you can complain and go through all the channels. Which nobody will do...

Carbon Fibre car bonnets are illegal, because they suppossedly don't crumply in the event of an accident, and can cut people in half.

Hardy har har. Want to give me the $$$ for one? Or convince work to pay me better???? :aweslon:

But in all seriousness, all the huggers I've ever seen would barely cover 90 degree's (i.e. vertical) let alone the 45 required by ADR....

Pkunk does not support fender eliminators because they snap off on country runs
