As for the Multanovas, there an NONE left on WA roads, they have ALL been phased out, both metro and country areas are now ALL Vitronic cameras.

Must have happened very recently, I've got a photo just here in front of me from a month ago taken by a multinova...

I do alot of country k's from Perth to Kal and rely on my radar dector big time, any info would be appreciated.

Yes and no.

Yes, it works, in that some dodgy guy full of shit gets a few dollars out of people that think they're going to get some magic inside tip that will get them out of a speeding ticket.

Yes...as long as you are trying to make the Judge and prosecuting seargent laugh at you. But not if you wanna get out of a speeding/traffic/parking fine.

You won't see a flash at night on the new cameras. If they sent you the fine, they got your plate and they can sharpen the image to show the plate clearer if need be. The car next to you in picture is irrelevant. The camera got you.

There's a lot of old wive's tales about trying to contest the fine if there's another vehicle in the picture. The cameras are calibrated, checked and setup properly you can rarely get out of a fine by one.

sorry i beg to differ, there is a red flash but it is no where near as obvious as the old ones, my reference is that i got done by one at night about a month ago, as for a car next to you, the new cameras single you out, and put a square around the licence plater saying its you

Kenty is on da money here. As Ientioned before there is now a honeycomb filter attached to the front of the flash that focuses the 'flash' beam into the area being photographed and so vehicles behind do not also see the flash strobe anywhere near as strong as with the old Multanovas. Also Kenty is spot on with the box being on the vehicle speeding in the photo. This is how they know which vehicle has triggered the camera across multiple lanes with several vehicles in the shot.
