Any exp with a 2001 gsxr 1000
As the title implies I'm looking at getting a 2001 gsxr 1000 and just want to know if anyone has had one and would recommend them as a good bike.
They sure seem to have plenty of power and the old writeups I've found online say they were a ball tearer for their time.

Loved the 2002, dood, which had only minor changes from the '01.
Great low-down torque, comfortable (for a sports bike), great fuel economy, pillion seat was loved by most pillions I ever had on it, wheelied 3rd gear to the horizon, took all the luggage I ever needed from here to Phillip Island and back (twice) and we only parted company due to a P plater not knowing how to turn a corner w/out looking at where he was going.

Thanks Hornet and Col.
I had a 83 gsx 1100 and love it but they are miles apart in tech upgrades

Oh, hell yeah. When the GSXR1000 was released it was 18 HP more than the next bike and out handled most of them, too. Some journo's commented on the six-pot calipers, calling them 'wooden'. If that was the worst part, then it's a fantastic bike. Just put braided lines on it. EASY!

From what I've seen of Hornet's 02 gsxr I would highly recommend the bike because every time I see a girl going for a ride with him they don't mind the horizontal ride afterwards.

Ive just bought the misses a 2001 gsxr600 and man did it make me miss having a inline 4.
Forgot the feel of instant response and the buzz from riding them, so time to change the 900 twin for a litre 4

Having owned a K2 I thought it was a great bike.
Only diff between the K1 and the K2 is decals, and a slight change to the wiring harness.
So on the eight day, after wasting time faffing about with unimportant guff like heaven & earth & the waters & sky & creatures [& having a wee kip] & man.... God created PSB (GenesiSX-R1000)

Actually, Deej, the mirrors got a change, too, having the large plastic surround removed to make way for the thinner alloy stalk. It was a better look, IMO.

I just bought a K4 and i was originally going for a K1-K2. I shopped hard and got the K4 cheaper than all the K2s I looked at. I loved them all and think they are awsome. Just buy one dont think any longer

My k1 was the best bike I owned. Mate Get one same make as th K2 FUCK ALL difference. They are a little bigger then todays bikes, but once you get to know her you will be nipping at the heels if not going past a later model.

Here is a pick of my old K1 and Gsxrandos k2

Yeah i rode my mates K1 and it has a huge amount of bottom end power and pretty comfy too. Really nice bike. Wish i had the cash to buy it as he is selling it. Id recomend them to anyone looking for a great 1000cc bike to own.
