You couldnt seriously expect a (whats the colour of a 2 cent bit- Copper) to reply to anything on the forum because the hate would flow thicker and faster than a Camel Salesman thread

ive always had a general hate towards copers, whenver i get my lisence and get pulled over and the cop is nice i will exclude him from my hatelist but the rest can suck some cock, stop being dickheads if they want us to shut up...

6PR had a segment with a local police officer answering public questions. Not sure if they still do though.

it has happened before on here where a forum member who is also a cop and a good friend was given total shit for trying to clear up some technical shit for a another member. He was totally pissed off at the treatment he received in his efforts to help out and has not tried to answer these questions again...

Another Member , also police was repremanded for giving information to help us all out, such as the tecnical side of the law, which was no more of simple explainations to help explain was certain offences were and why it was necessary to adress them from a police point of view.

Both of these very nice blokes were only trying to help and improve the us/ them relationship and they either got a pinapple here or one at work. so don't ask for there responces because they have their jobs just like we do and they don't need to jepodise there futures for there love of this community or motorcycling in general.

See, good blokes being punished for being good blokes, by the cops because that's not the cop way.

    That's why I hate them.

    More turquoise then?

Oh and for your PR exam you'll need to write that reply as; "Currently we can not comment upon the progress of the application however we can confirm than an application has been made and enquires are continuing in the meantime."

Well I've known a lot of coppers in my time, quite a few were decent fun loving people, who enjoyed a drink and were always up for a laugh...

The best bloke I've ever known was a cop, but my old man died a few years ago.

    Family and friends are/were coppers.

All the cops I know actually have skin (reasonably thick skin at that) and therefore couldn't give two fucks what was said online about them.

Other coppers I have met are thin skinned little pricks, who are like petty little children, and misuse the powers granted.

I used to get in the shit from my old man for calling coppers PIGS.

He used to tell me it meant Pride Integrity Guts.

Anyway after years of that and me being a Militarised version, he finally phoned me up and said that he'd actually met a 'PIG' and as with a lot of interactions we have it was not the fact of the incident but the behaviour of the person involved.

I've spent alot of time with cops on 'Choir Practice' and there are two distinct groups, there are PIG's with Pride/Integrity/Guts and then there are Pig's.

I much prefer real cops rather than the 'new breed' of plastics.

    This thread is useless.
If there is ANYONE out there who struggles with the concept that the police force is made up of a variety of individuals, I'd be friggn surprised.
So it flows that there are good and bad. Are all PSB members righteous, law-abiding, polite and considerate road-users? Exactly.
If you want to have a law question answered, search the net or phone the police info line. they are very helpful.
I am as silly and as mad as most, but I have never had a bad experience with ANY policeman. How come that? I think I respect their position. I don't attack any of them on a personal basis. I think it was my dad who told me, when I was 16, to pull my head in. That worked.

I actually agree with CS on this one.

I may be naive, but I still like to think that the vast majority of popo are out there doing a pretty decent effort in a really shitty job. Of course some of them may go on a power trip and they need to be weaned out by the force, but by and large, i support and respect them. Unfortunately they ones that are bad news tend to be traffic cops, and these guys are the ones we are most likely to deal with on a day to day basis.

re the OP - I'm well aware of the thread on the other forum you mentioned. It is not all beer and skittles over there and the cop does get a flogging quite regularly. Unfortunately, that particular forum is hugely over moderated by its owners, thats why i no longer use it.

oh an another thing, if i want to know the law, i wouldnt ask a cop. To me that would be like asking an entry level soldier why we are in Iraq....sure their opinion is very much valid, but its just that....their opinion only.

Makes sense to me. In other words what you are saying there's good and bad apples in every walk of life and we shouldn't be stereotyping based on the experience of a few in the same way we as motorcyclists don't want to be labeled as speeding hoons and a menace to society because of the actions of a few.
As soon as the penny drops on this irony these threads should (in theory) go very quiet.

Problem is that when you get bounced for something ludicrous it doesn't make you like the cops any more does it?

Why would you want the forums to go quiet in regard to what is basically an injustice?

We should never go quiet on injustice, we should rant and rave about it until the powers that be recognise the injustice, and it may seem like no big deal, but better to make a fuss over small problems so that they think twice before trying anything bigger.

Plus this form of penalty is a backdoor method of punishment, yer nothing is recorded, but you could by all rights end up being charged $100 for nothing being wrong, and the copper isn't answerable for his actions.

    That sounds more like robbery.

Yer the bsic cost is <$50 but combine that with a Days loss of Pay, and already its expensive, and that's something that could be done to you repeatedly with repurcussions for the officer involved.
