Best way to remove surface rust

Ok PSB brains trust. What's the best way to remove little specks of surface rust from swingarms, triple clamps etc?

CLR clear? Sandpaper? A scourer? Piss on it?

beach riding, let that salty sand just scrub it off.

butif that doesn't work for you, maybe just use a little rust converter before trying sandpaper, ooo and angle grinder will do it...

Best way? Sand/Bead/Soda blast (depending upon thickness of metal and level of rust) and refinish. Next best? Rub with scourer/sandpaper until all evidence of rust has gone, then refinish. Rust converter will blacken the rust, but leave the rusty texture, but definitely the easiest.

I use stainless steel wool and very light pressure or the balled up alfoil Daise mentioned works well too especially with a bit of wd40 or similar oil, follow up with a decent metal polish such as mothers, autosol etc unless you want to repaint or polish in 5 stages try not to use anything too abrasive.
Do you remember the good old days before the internet?

when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.

So, steel wool + wd40, then autosol?

    Sounds like a go!

    Thanks all!

Use an extra cut cream polish on the painted surfaces after washing with a soft soapie scourer! On chromed surfaces use a xxxx grade steel wool,(stainless steel is best) Finish with autosol to polish.
Looking at the surfaces, they wont come up like new but will look heaps better.
