    Bike advice! I can't decide!!!!

    Hey knowledgeable psb people,

Im looking at purchasing a <insert specific model of bike> or a <insert another specific model of bike>.

I really like the look of them both, but i'm not sure which one will suit me better as a squid.

I like the power of <bike a>, but <bike b> is more comfortable?

I also like the fact that <bike a> is cheaper, but do i include this in my final decision?

Im just wondering which are the major factors you included while making a decision between two bikes?

How do i decide between the two?

    Oh hai robbo.

    The answer is simple.

Test ride them both and decide yourself

    I hope this helps.

    Robbo,
Buy and read the book "How to Ride a Motorcycle; A Rider's Guide to Strategy, Safety, and Skill Development." Everything you'll need to know in your first couple years of riding is there.

Still before you buy a bike, go out and get the best protective gear you can afford: full faced helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, and riding pants. You're bound to make a few mistakes while learning, and you want to make sure you have every opportunity to "get back up on that horse."

Now, once you've done all that, if you're looking for an inexpensive sport bike, consider these: Honda Interceptor 250 or 500, Kawasaki Ninja 250 or 500 or EX 500, Yamaha FZR 400, or Suzuki GS 500.

Note: sport bikes are not necessarily good for shorter cephalopods (less than 1'4"). If you have trouble finding a bike to fit you properly, you might need to check into a Buell Blast or possibly a cruiser (the 250 or 535 Viragos are very nice bikes.)

I hope that helps. Good luck!

Save money on safety gear, who needs it, buy the faster one.

    possibly a cruiser
Cruisers and ninja250's are for manatees.
    I am not a manatee, i am a squid.

I agree with your comment regarding protective gear, that is a very valid point.

so the main factors are (in no particular order):

    - cost
    - aesthetic value
    - ability to compensate for poor riding skill
    - <insert a minor factor that re-enforces the need for compensation of poor riding ability>
    - top speed

oh, well, that changes everything... you'll be needing a turbine engine.

Might I suggest the MTT Y2K | Motorbikes

I believe now a kawasaki would best suit.
The soft chassis should help through corners and not injure your malleable body.

I can't fit 2 tentacles on the ground when they have come to a halt? Should this narrow my choice?

Agreed with saving on safety gear. You only need safety gear if you're going to crash. Since you're never going to crash, it'd only be a waste of money. I imagine with your head shape you'd also be eligible for an exemption from the requirement to wear helmets.

I suggest the R1, though. People are never shutting up about how much squids love the R1, I'm sure you too would be satisfied.

Don't forget the squids have started migrating to hayabusa's too...

But they look a bit too much like a southern right whale for my liking... Bad experience.. long story

Robbo, don't worry about touching the ground on an R1. I, too, am a squid, and I touched the ground on (off?) my R1 just yesterday.

The best thing for you to do is to post your questions on PSB and keep prompting until you have umtybazilion different opinions to make your decision easier.
