Bike Cleaning Advice Plexus vs Vuplex

Many on this forum (including me) have used, and been very happy with using Plexus in cleaning their bikes. While at the local BCF I noticed an Australian product called Vuplex that gave almost exactly the same blurb on it, as to what Plexus says. The cost there was $19.95, but a quick search shows that Whitworths Marine sells it for only $15.95.

Also, a quick Google search indicated that people who have used it were very happy with it, and seemed to think the results were similar to what Plexus produces.

When I run out of Plexus I am going to give it a go, but I guess that the point of this thread was to see whether anyone here had used it and what their opinion of it was, and also to put it out there that there may be an Australian product that is comparable to Plexus in results, but also cheaper.

Vuplex and Plexus are the same stuff for all intents and purposes. Unless you're REALLY worried about filling all the micropores in your plastics. Then use Plexus.

I finally got into Whitworths today and picked up some VuPlex. My bike came up beautifully, and I'll be recommending it, but I've never used Plexus.

I also used some Armor All 'Bug and Tar gel' stuff on my wheels which worked well - they were filthy with chain lube and road shite. Sprayed some other Armor All 'Wheel protector' stuff on them when I was done, it's supposed to stop crap sticking to them. Will see how it goes.

Vuplex has more of a citrus smell about it, otherwise they're pretty much one and the same as already mentioned.

Never used VuPlex so can't comment.
But never, ever use Stardust, its utter shite.
I don't think the current Plexus is the same as the old stuff either, it's not quite as good.

EDIT: TORQ, I must have used VuPlex then, no, not as good.

I use the Honda spray cleaner on the plastic and metal and only use Plexus on the clear plastics. The Honda spray works just as well and has the benefit of carnauba wax protection. It was also cheaper but not as good on the clear plastics.

I have always used Mr Sheen for cleaning my helmet. Keeps the visor pretty clear when raining, all with a lovely lemony smell. Unless you get the wrong one, then it smells like an antique shop.

But you gotta try new things, the VuPlex was $16 from Whitworths and for the amount I used cleaning my bike it will last a long time.

    Nothing?

I have used Meguirs polish and Carnubra Wax on the cars for a good number of years, and have tried others along the way to see if there is a difference, but always end up staying with Meguirs. I use it on my bike too, and it comes up a treat, a nice deep shine, and it lasts as long as you use the Carnubra Wax. I use it on painted plastics, the clear windscreen, the wheels, my helmet, everything. Sweet.

What do you guys pay for Plexus 13oz? I buy this stuff by the carton as it works well with Ventureshield. I usually sell it to my Ventureshield customers.
You shake and smack the ketchup bottle, none will come and then a lot'll.

Plexus is designed for Plastic. Althought your bike is made of plastic, most have paint on top of the plastic.

Use Plexus on unpainted coloured & clear plastics, but save the paintwork for Carnuba.

I use Vuplex on my Museum boxes that is perspex.

It works like charm and I recommend them to anyone who wants to polish up their plastics.

    + 1 from me.
