bike wont start? NOW WITH VIDEO!

    Hey,

I'm trying to get my cbr250rr to start to check if the motor is still ok.

i had an accident back in nov, which made the bike immovable i started afew weeks after the accident and it started no problem.

it has now been like 3-4months since i last start it; i took the battery out and charge it the other day. when i go to start it ticks over but does not fire up.

i can smell fuel but it doesn't fire. kill switch is on, has fuel (but it may be bad? 3months old). Could it be the spark plug?

    thanks

ticks over like the starter motor actually cranks the engine? because when batterys are dead they make a tic tic tic noise, but it's not actually turning the motor.

Sorry should have mention battery has been charged. Try with the chock on doesnt help. I would try to push start it but cant due to bent parts. I try for about 2-5 mins but didnt start then try just for 30sec another day same dealPosted via Mobile Device

I assume "ticks over" means the engine is turning over when you push the start button.
The November fuel will be as usefull as cats urine. Turn the fuel off, drain the carbs. Disconnect fuel line from carbs to tank .Take the tank off ,empty that. Fresh from the servo today fuel in tank .Put tank on ,hook up fuel line turn fuel on ,press start.
    Regards Alex.

One cold winter's morning my Babyblade absolutely refused to start. I pulled it out of the garage, left it in the early morning sun for 15 minutes and it fired up after that. Go figure ???

still can't get it to start

don't think it will be the fuel as i had left my car for 6months without starting it and i was able to use that fuel that was 6months old.

    it almost starts sometimes :/

igs i try it today and it was pretty hot still no go, i would push start it but the bike wont go straight; hard to push start a bike in a circle

I heading towards the fuel being bad. Has only been in for 3 months but that is all Summer. You say it tries to start sometimes. What smell do you get from the exhaust. (does it smell like bad fuel).

Have you had a chance to look at the plugs yet. IMO I don't think this would be a problem seeing as though you had started the bike after the accident. (May still be worth a look though, just so you can tick it off the list)
