Cafe Racers = My World
Here's a pic of my Trumpy just before the crash, this is now my next cafe racer project
This is my Kawasaki KH100 Cafe / Bucket Racer I just picked up and planning to race it in the historic bucket class next year. I am also trying to find who built this bike, if anyone knows about it, I would love to hear.
This is my current cafe racer project - a KH125 Rotary Valve 2 Stroker.
Wait 'till you see this, only a month or two away now. I have modified it all over to cafe racer mode.
Full custom paint that'll leave you drooling...
Fully bombed engine that'll leave you pondering...
Every bit imaginable has been rebuilt and modified if required to suit the new image.
I'll add some shot's of the work in progress shortly.
And here is one of my favourite pics of a cafe racer

My Ace bars arrived today, so I trial fitted them. I think they completely changed the whole look of the bike already.
Still have to work on the cable routing and I'll be using bar end mirrors, but by the end of the week the bike should be completely in pieces and parts sent off to be painted or powder coated or re-chromed. The tank will be soda blasted before painting, I've got some ideas for decals and also have new chrome YAMAHA badges for it. (plus more goodies to come)

Your bike is going to look sweet when done Triple ... Hmmm ... wonder if i can get some bar end mirrors for a GSX250 ... haha maybe not.

I'm seeing a lot of Triton lovers here. We have two 1961'ish Norton frames sitting at home (Model 50 and Model 88, I think there's a thread on it somewhere) that my dad may sell if you're serious about building a cafe racer triton from scratch. Of course, you'd have to go find your own Triumph engine to put in it, but the frame's a start right?
PM me if you're serious about it and I'll make the necessary calls.
Dual sport riders do it in the dirt
Here's a hint of bits for the road KH125 cafe racer project, I know alot of you will scratch your heads or chuckle and say - but it's a 125?
Just you wait...
Some of the other work (pics to follow)- Modified, powder coated frame and triple clamps, Oversize forks, Disk brake mods, Heavy duty clutch, Hagon shocks, Re chroming galore, Stainless spokes, The list just goes on.
Big Thanks to Vitech Refinishing for the paint and ShanHard of Harding Design, Print and Sign for the pin striping of the tank and rear cowling. Exactly what I was after and perfect finish!!
Before and after water blasting of the hubs. I've had most of the engine done already, about to split the case and that will be the last bit. I recommend water blasting, the result is brilliant and doesn't damage the part in the process compared to sand blasting sometimes.
I'm really loving this project. Especially when I get bits back looking like these hubs, give me a little tickle inside...![]()
Triple Treat..
Your KH125 project deserves a thread of its own!! .. Looking good
Make sure you take lots of pic's!
I meet John? terrible with names from HMR who owns/built the guzzi nice guy real enthusiast too the Guzzi was finished then had to be rebuilt again after a meeting with a roo somewhere in the Glass House mountians.
Considering orginally it looked something like this http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/511269/
Yep, 209kg's dry, but I can chop my mates fireblade through the tightest of twisties, such a sweet bike to ride, very muscular.
Thanks Laika!! I like this thread so I'm happy to keep it going here but I will chuck another up when she is finished. Lotsa pics for sure.
but the longer I take to build it the more I can ride your bike Shan![]()
