    Centre stands stability question

new bikes got a centre stand, haven't had one since my CBR600 F3. I have a storage spot for it at rear of my garage with a roller door for access to rear yard. the wee on its side stand takes up a shit load of room and if i used the centre stand it gives me access. so i put it on the stand and given it a few good nudges - shakes etc and it seems ok. BUT i have a 2 small kids

open question to PSB: advise please - based on your experience is it going to be stable enough to take a glancing blow from a golden retriever fly by, and maybe a small child climbing up for an expression session (and yes, hes been told not to do it - again and again), i cant use it if theres a chance it'll topple
I cant help it if my reality doesnt match your perceptions

Every bike I've owned with a centre stand, the centre stand was more stable than the sidestand. Yes it will wobble a bit, but you generally need a good shove to roll it off the stand and sideways, nah, don't worry about it.

The whole point of a centre stand is to be more stable. I don't know about your bike, but otherwise what he said^^^

    Agreed.

If you're really worried you could probably even fashion up some way to bolt the stand to the floor with a shackle and an eye bolt.

If a kid or dog knocks it over on a centre stand, hes meant to do it.

realy your that worried should have bought a can am like the captain says it will take a fucking good
knock to put it on its side even on the side stand on solid level ground you'll need to put some effort
into putting it on its side more than what a retriever can muster mine cant eve be botherd pissing on the wheel
    just gos next to it.

heretic, i've shagged on a bike on its centrestand, rocking it back and forward over the balance point. i dont think a stray dog or kid will really bother it too much

mine varies between lazy, lovable, trusted family pet and the cat from "Pet Cemetary"

hard to pick where he'll be at from day to day, or whats going to go down when you open the back door, keeps you on your toes,

i kinda dig that about him

Yeah the CS on my BB is heaps more stable than being on the sidestand so there shouldn't be an issue unless the retriever is a large male and going to rear up and try and mount your bike
