Got to work this morning and found my little neich parking spot behind my building has been covered in Yellow No Parking signs.

The last time I tried a comercial car park they tried to charge me full price at around $20 per day.

Does anyone know of any good cheap or free locations to park. I am around St Georges and King Steet.

Thanks

Convention Centre is only about $6 a day, all you do is go and park in the bike bays and pay at the Security office at the end of the day, as long as you have your helmet with you etc, they accept you are on a bike.

There are not many. The council should actually charge us $2.40 rather than $6 based on the space we use, but yes the council parking facilities all have motorcycle bays for half the car price. Wilsons will charge the full car rate.

Another facility is below the Westfarmers building but you need to get in by 7.30am as they have only 11 bays and they fill up quick (cost $3.50) per day.

Cheers

You: "Insurance company told me i must accompany my bike all the time!!"
Boss: "Sweet, can i sit on it?"
You: "sure, where's my pay rise?"

I have often parked at the convention center and just ridden out after not being able to find any where to pay for a ticket there is a massive gap between the boom gate and the wall not sure about the legalities of this but I have never been pulled up over it.

lol. I wouldn't do that too often tails, or one day you might come back to find someones chained up your bike, or towed it away.

dusty_nz - where was your old parking spot?

harbortown. Not sure if they have cameras there but there's never anyone around and bikes can easily fit through the posts. I've never parked there during the week as I don't work in the city but I've done it once or twice on a sunday. Bit of a walk though depending on where you work.

Damn it you're giving away trade secrets! HarbourTown has a good parking area just under the up ramp. Lots of bikes use this. I don't know if it is specially set aside for bikes or not but the parking is free as far as I'm aware, it's sheltered under the ramp, visible for security and convenient if you want to shop there. No need to sneak in either as there are no posts to by-pass. Because it is under the ramp I think they consider it unusable space and will leave it for motorcycle access.

Its a bit of a walk, but Kings Hotel in Pier st have $5.00 per day parking... Although I'm sure its quite easy not to pay, if u want to risk it... Oh and most open air CPP carparks with boomgates u can ride thru the boomgates.. whether you pay or not is your decision..

I think you can apply for a CPP parking card that has the 50% discount built in, but I'm yet to follow that one up..

Watch the old style meters in the Concert hall carpark, been putting in $5.40 for 3 weeks, and have been seeing varied times listed on the meter (it is supposed to be $5.40 for a bike for 10hrs) and yet one of the meters reads between 12h 30m hours to 5h 59m on any given day....

... Yesterday found myself a nice little printed receipt saying I owe the City of Perth $50 for parking next to an expired meter...

... Yes am gonna write em a letter compklaining and explaining the inconsistencies of the meter, and aksing them to rescind the fine.

Will lets ya all know what happens.

Well it's meant to be half price of car parking isn't it?
$9.70 for a day in the car, or $7.80 if you get there early.

Bugger trying to faff around with $5.60 in coins to pay in an open air carpark (AND potentially still get a fine due to inaccurate meters)... I just park at Kings, $5.00 per day, u can pay an attendant.. Kings is closer too (for me)... That said, I've seen a huge increase in bikes parking there since they moved the chain forward on that place on the cnr victoria and st georges... either that or since I posted here about it!
