We tend not to post roads on an open forum (the police can read as well, well some of them at least) turn up to some rides and talk to some people and you'll find some.

Freeway north at exactly 830pm on a Tuesday night.

Go at least 160 and you will love it.

What if the cops had an undercover snitch rock up to a group ride and ask around about favorite routes and what not?

    Everybody is too paranoid.

Police tend to set up traps on roads that have a high traffic volume and a good possibilty that they will catch xxx no. of speeders per hour.

They are unlikely to waste a large part of their day staking out some quiet country road on the off chance that there will be a handful of motorcyclists travelling along it at some time during the day.

PS - this might come as a shock to some people but the police know all the most popular motorcycle roads already.

Quiet correct but I'm not into making TEG's job really easy for them.

They're driven by numbers, and while many here would also say a psychopathic hatred of all things bike, realistically that won't get a tick in the annual performance review.

The trick is not to publicise when a group of riders will be travelling along a favourite road - and not to follow a rigid routine for regular rides.

Years ago I used to attend the Honda Riders' Club Monthly Rides as a participant (before I became the ride leader). After a while they became quite routine and generally quite predictable. As a rule, they left the Honda Shop and then roared up Toodyay road before turning off to O'Brien Road. Of course the police eventually picked up the routine and suddenly we found ourselves either being shadowed by a police car that 'happened' to be waiting outside the Honda Shop, or on 2 occasions came across police hiding in the bushes on the first (straight) part of O'Brien Rd.

Later, we overcame this by never taking the same route twice and also being quite flexible with the ride departure time (some would describe it as Lolly and I always arriving late and keeping everyone waiting - but there was a method in our madness!).

Is it true that the legendary Laguna Seca corkscrew is the result of needing to lose some elevation to make the track meet up, rather than anyone actually designing it that way?

And yes Mikey I think you'll find most people who are interested in driving or riding want to have a go round both the IOM and Laguna Seca at tome point in their lives.
