Finally got it after 2 years of trying!!!!!!

It only took 2 years, being knocked back for fiance 4 times and having to sacrifice heaps of things but I finally got me a bike.

    Isn't she beautiful!!
The only thing I have notice is she has a lot of shutter in the front end when I use the front brakes. Any suggestions?

    Cool mate, red looks good.

Might need to explain your problem a bit more...could be a number of things.

    Glazed pads?
    Warped disc?

Hopefully not your head stem bearings but check them for play..

when i apply the front brakes at speed she gets quite a bad shutter until she slows down and i start using the rear brake. it does it even when i apply them lightly I haven't been brave enough to do a quick stop in case it got worse with pressure.

    Warped front disk.
Does it pulse through the lever?
Pop the front on a stand and you should be able to see and hear which disk it is.

i did notice id pulse through the lever. I did put it up one the back stand and gave the forks a shake cause the first thing I thought it might be is the steering head bearings but it felt pretty good. I'm about 85% sure its not the bearings. I'll do it again and listen to the disk but then again I might just replace the disk and pads any way. new brakes has always got to be a good thing.

Do you think it will cost much?

and FYI I am a little dyslexic (I think that's how you spell it)
I use firefox for the spell checker but sometimes it miss it. Sorry.

Ring Kim Brittons and ask to get put through to parts. Get the pads and PM me. I live down your way, and can show you how to fit them. Easy job mate.

Oh, good on ya for getting the bike. Nice one. Welcome to PSB. You learn to love the slayings.

funny you should mention kim mate. I'm going to see him this morning to get all my new safety equip cause i've been using my dirt bike stuff until now (well to get her home anyway) I was planning on doing the disk too.

Is it any different to doing dirt bike brakes cause if not I should be ok.

I do really appreciate the offer to. Good to see so many good Samaritans on this site.

Sounds like a disc to me. Better it was head stem bearings, much cheaper to fix.

A ZZR250... that takes me back a long time...

Congrats, they are a good solid little runner. As for the shudder from the front, it could be a number of things, I would go for the easiest/cheapest first then workmy way up.

Tyres, condition and pressure, brakes, pads, fluid, lines and disc, headstock bearing and axle bearings.

All items worth inspecting and overhauling/repairing if needed, the front of the bike is quite important, the back less so.
The universe likes speed. Don't delay. Don't second guess. Don't doubt. When the opportunity is there, when the impulse is there, when the intuitive nudge from within is there, act.

    +1 for warped discs

its only 1 disc on the front of a zzr250 iirc.. should be easy to get a 2nd hand replacement pretty cheap at a bike wreckers. possibly the same disc for GPZ and GPX 250 as well. pull the front wheel off and take the disc down to two wheel wreckers.

+1 as well for sorting it out before you start riding the bike, its not safe like that.
