Friend at work (not on PS says a BIG up to Fraser Motorcycles in Dianella.

He has been to other Ducati shops before and hasn't been overly impressed, but when he took his ride into Fraser's to have the valve guides done he was extremely happy with the service and will be going back again.

What made him so impressed? Well he took the side faring off to check the battery charge (always having probs with the battery oh yeh, that's right it's a Ducati) and discovered that they had replaced all the missing gromets and rubber spacers under the fairing screws.

So a big to Fraser's for your attention to detail, you now have a returning customer

For every good story you post about Frasers, I have 2 bad ones.

Mebee the Ducati side of things is up to spec... But their Harley/Buell service is fucken bullshit. I'd recommend them to NO-ONE.

My preference is Frasers for Ducati spares and accesories, I live very close to another Ducati dealer, but will travel out of my way because I have found the customer service much better at Frasers.

Dont know what their servicing is like but Tony in spares and Jon in sales do a tip top job and thanks to them I will continue to spend all my hard earned with Frasers

[attachmentid=3176]Well you have to admit that out of all the Ducati dealers with distance, Frasers is the only one with all
the good gear (ie Mathesis!!).

They dont mind charging though.

I think Vee Two also have a Mathesis, dunno how they got it, was only supposed to goto Duke Dealers.

Motorcycle City is run by Jabba the Hut and a bunch of people who arer not customer oriented at all.
And thats why I have spent the bulk of my $10K on accessories from US + German shops. [/font]

Has anyone heard any news on the 1098 Ducati for next year??

"Sorry for any delays in answering. My mailbox is FULL and I answer every PM. Also very busy this weekend.

This is Ducati proprietary dealer info, NOT rumor or speculation! Straight from the 08/24/06 dealer meeting... I saw the packet with pics and specs!

Have paper pics only; none in jpg, etc. to post. Dealer wanted me to see them, but not post them. I will try to get some in an uploadable format.

All models have a 1099cc engine, but are designated 1098 (for fear of association with the IRS 1099 tax form - REALLY!).

Three Models-
$14,995 - 1098 Base: 160hp/80+tq
$19,995 - 1098S: adds carbon bits and Ohlins suspension pieces
$24,995 - 1098 Tri-Colore: adds race exhaust in the crate, red/white/green three-color paint
(Pricing is preliminary and may change slightly)

Styling somewhat similar to Desmosedici RR, but with longer, sharper front fairing and featuring dual headlights; New dash design; Single-sided swingarm; Dual oval underseat exhaust; Weight reduction of 37.5 pounds; Monoblock radial-caliper brakes w/330mm discs.

All 1098 models will come configurable as mono and biposto. Base model outperforms 999R!!

Ducati will NOT campaign the new bike for the coming AMA season; instead skipping a year for potential rule changes.

Official debut will be at Milan in November, with deliveries expected to begin in February.

My 1098S is pre-ordered with deposit. Ducati will NOT guarantee all orders, because of demand vs. supply issues on NEW production model. Get it locked in early if you want one.

No info on the 749 replacement. I was WAY to excited about the 1098 specs, and forgot to even ask. Hope to have news soon, but will NOT post rumors. Credibility is crucial on the forum, especially for newbies like me."

My experience with Frasers (when I was riding a Ducati) was been good (other than the fact that their servicing costs more than any other). One time my valve cap broke, I bought a new one from Frasers and they offered to fit it at no charge. Another time my brake level broke after an incident. After buying a new one from them, the service department offered to fit it for me at no charge again.

P.S. The same work shop/people services Buell/Harley/Ducati so I find it strange that some here have good service experience with Ducati while others not with Buell?

I'll give some brief examples of why I'm so jaded.

They broke my sidestand bolt whilst in for a service one time. I didn't notice until I got it home. They denied all knowledge. I eventually caved and said "fine, order me a new one then, since it's just a bolt."

3 times I had to order this fucking bolt, and only on the 3rd time (after 18 months) did I get the bolt. Not once at any time did they contact me to let me know my parts were in. (not only the bolt. I'd ordered other things too.) EVER. I always had to chase them up.

NEVER EVER rang me to let me know my bike was ready to be picked up after a service.

Broke an oil pump fitting during service. (overtightened apparently) Spewed oil everywhere that afternoon an hour from the shop. Grudgingly replaced it 2 days later. Non genuine part.

I noticed a bottom end knocking. Took bike into get a professional opinion. "Nah, she'll be right, just ride it until it seizes" was reportedly said. Hearing this, I had the bottom end rebuilt under warranty.

So despite goofy, who I have a lot of respect for, FUCK FRASERS.

*blows dust off thread* hi all... thought it was better than starting a new thread.

Im off to do some shopping pretty soon, im looking at buying a new Ducati. Now, I work extremely close to Causeway ducati here in vic park, but I have heard good things about fraser's. I just wanted to test the water with peoples sales experiences with either dealer.

The reason I ask is that I am in sales myself and being a young guy, I dont want to be treated like an idiot. I am a serious buyer who is happy to pay the RRP of the product IF I am delt with in a professional and helpful manner. All comments and opinions welcome. And yes I am aware that different people have both good and bad experiences.

Also as a foot note... is it possible to trade in a car against a bike?

Tin Tin, yes you can trade a car on a bike.. They'll do the same as we do and wholesale it directly to a car dealership.

Seriously I would try both dealerships, but go to causeway for the test ride as they chuck you the keys and say see you back in an hour...
