Angry Harrassment (actually only been pulled over twice....)

    Hello,

I love my new bike and ride everyday but it seems to get a little more attention than i bargained for.

I have had my car license for 9 years and in that time, i have been pulled over twice. Once for a random breath test and another for rolling slowly over a stop line.

I have had my bike license for 2 weeks and have been pulled over twice. Once because the cop thought i was on a big bike and i had to get the ninja manual out of my back seat to prove that it was a 250.

Another cop wanted to check if the bike was stolen.

Does this happen to anyone else or have i just been unlucky this fortnight?

    Cheers

I've been pulled over twice in the last decade (been riding considerably longer - just stating 'recent' times).
Once let off for +70 over... the more recent being done for 38km/h over (i was exceeding this, but the guys dumbed things down so i wasn't going to lose my bike/licence).

There are cnuts in uniform - and there are fellow riders... carry on.

I'd say we should all be grateful some police are doing their job. I can't see how doing a licence check = harrassment. Its not called harrassment when you get booze-bussed three nights in a week.
Bikes always draw more attention than cars.... I check out nearly all bikes that ride near me, so the police are likely to do the same. I reckon if you have done fugg all wrong, have the right licence etc. then it should/could be a pleasant non-event. The more reasonable riders the police interact with, the better for us all.

It seems to happen all at once - then nothing for a while... You should be all good now for at least a month.... Maybe.

    +100
Of course, FEs etc will draw attention, but Im sure we all know that by now.

Can't even remember the last time I was pulled over, except at a booze bus.

Been riding everyday for a couple weeks and barely seen any cops, let alone been pulled over. Just unlucky mate

Bunbury being smaller than Perth, they will get to know you and if you don't be a twat you will be left alone. When I got my first big bike the cops down here pulled me over twice in the first 100kms to see if I had my K (now R) license as they were used to seeing me on a 250.

I personally know a few of the traffic cops down here and the ones I know are bike afficionados.

Stopped 5 times since september 20th last year.

Once in my driveway for the infamous "this is a random licence check....shane"

Wasn't charged with anything on any occasion.

really? I always thought it was the opposite. I thought the cops didnt/were too scared to pull over harley's and "bikies" and targeted the sports bikes more.

^^^ I had a mate who had a harley and he was pulled over nearly every time a copper drove past him, they get much more attention then sportsbikes do.

In the last 5 years i've been pulled over once on the bike and been through 3 RBT stops.
Two of them were just blow into this and ride on but the last was a 15 min full check of me and the wife(she was on her R learners at the time) for lic, bike rego, make sure I was allowed to shadow her and bike road worthy checks.

The only thing that pissed me off about it was they didn't hold anyone else for extensive checking, only us on the bikes.

Never been stopped on a bike. Only lost 1 point in my whole life (and I still maintain I got duped). I would rather see more police stops, not less. Don't take it as harassment, their doing their job.

    Thumbs up

Bottom line is there are so many guys riding 250's without any bike licence and again so many riding big bikes with a RE licence, would have to be worth a check.

If you are going the right thing, as previously stated, go with the flow . . . . a non event.

Hopefully if you bike got knocked off, the coppers would stop the thief too!

Actually, I was told @ a licence check that most unlicenced riders ride open class bikes. I was pulled over on the 600 for that this week.

Edit: Pulled over for a licence check, not out of class I mean.

On the bike, I got RBT'd at 0800hrs about ten years ago but nothing since. The cheeky kid did ask if I had a licence for the 1000 but didn't ask to see it.
    Please, call me Flash...
