    Now im rather confused...
    lol I'm confused too

What I'm thinking (and I may very well be totally wrong) is that the bike as supplied by the manufacturer, has passed the ADR's. Any variation you make may technically breach that compliance certificate.

Anyway, bottom line is that considering you technically cant even re-paint your vehicle without getting permission, I think the gist is that your taking a risk when you make ANY change to a vehicle.

edit - the thing with the paint is not an ADR thing but a state licensing thing, but the point i was getting at is that what you are actually allowed to do seems to be extremely restricted.

also remember that the ADR's are just one aspect of this. Vehicles must meet the appropriate ADR's to be imported, but the actual laws that cover standards are contained in the Road Traffic Code (Vehicle Standards) or whatever its called (check SLP website for specifics). The vehicle standards regulations make reference to the appropriate ADR's but there are also requirements that are separate to the ADR's. Hence any modifications are a fucking nightmare!

    bump.

is there a permit or something you can get that will allow you to ride during the daytime with no front lights (ie. race glass front cowl)

for the reason of riding to a trackday or tuning session.

(this is just the raceglass front cowl. The fender, brakelight and indicators would all still be there)

I looked at getting a unique fairing once but the coppers I used to know believed that the headlight, whilst not being used, must be accessible during daylight for emergency signalling or stuff like tunnels and/or thick smoke. Taping them up is illegal according to their reckoning. Concealed headlights are accessible by pop-up etc.
