    Hey gang

I don't think my helmet fits properly but maybe it's like this with most lids. If I go rather fast( = about 140 clicks) , the inside of the chin bar and visor tend to touch my face as the helmet gets blown backwards. If I turn my head i.e. to lane check when going really fast the lid wants to slightly rotate about my head. I'd imagine that if I came a gutser and managed to faceplant, a lid that actually can hit your face is a good way to go for a smashed face.

It's a cheapo HJC FG-12 and when I 1st tried it on it was like trying to jam my head down a possum's throat (i.e. it was very tight) . It still feels tight but nonetheless moves around .

I'd be suprised if these aren't indications of a too-big helmet but I throught I'd ask in case it's the norm for that kinda fit .

    Cheers
    Lee.

It's too big or it's of low quality and the foam inserts have compressed. My brother inlaw helmet came off his head when he was hit by a car, POOR FIT! now he is paying for it for the rest of his life.

Bin it if it's loose, must stay firm.

More than likely its not the right size. I'd say use it as a second helmet for your pillion riders and go out and purchase a good quality helmet. If you come off your bike (touch wood) then I would want to know I have invested in the best helmet I can afford.

Next time you go into a shop and try on some helmets, keep it on your head for about 10-20 mins and walk around. Ask them if its okay to go for a quick spin on your bike. If you damage it then I guess you would have to buy it. Then you would really know if its the right one.

I dont know of any shops that would let you do this, just incase you drop it while they are not looking. Id definately recommend asking to sit on your bike, or at the very least one of their bikes to make sure the helmet doesn't hit your shoulder whilst doing a head check.

Just atleast make sure the damn thing doesnt move in the slightest when you first try it on. dont ever go for 2nd hand helmets.

You want it not to move, and for the first 2 weeks it should atleast feel tighter than normal when your wearing it.

If it moves when you tilt over 80kmh then its the wrong fit. ditch the bitch.

Heads are nice to have if you managed to throw your ride down the road. look after it properly

When im doing 270 kph , my helmet slightly moves back nearly touching my nose/face .... But mine is the right size cause its the smallest they do ...

Id be worried with the sideways movement though .....

I had a cheep lid (nolans) and it did the same thing with moving and lifting, not to mention the horrid wind sound.

I got a Shoei for xmas. Never again will i wear a cheep lid. Make sure if fits tight, they do break in. I went for comfort and wight, and found Shoei a good fit.
