    Hiring Motorbikes in Tasmania

Right - so after winning a bit of prize at work which resulted in me being the proud new owner of a $1500 travel voucher, I have decided to fly to Tassie and bike around the island for a week or so in mid/late Feb.

Has anyone had any experience in hiring bikes at a reputable place that they would recommend in Tassie, and if so, did the hire place go through a travel agent? The reason I ask is the prize is a travel voucher so it will need to go through an agent.

Ummm! Can't offer any suggestions about hire bikes. My suggestion is to adequately equip yourself with wet weather gear and thermal underwear.

Was suckered into spending Easter 1979 touring Tassie on my bike. CRAP! I have never been so wet and cold in my life. Ok! It may have been a bad year. I'm never going to risk it again.

ship your bike over to Melb, use the voucher for the ferry and decent accommodation around Tassie.
^^WHS^^ for wet weather, it will occur.
i've done it round that time. was great but huey did chuck it down before getting onto the ferry in deavonport.

Congrats Mike. Doing PI for the GP this year, tossing up on N/E Vic and into NSW or Tassie, like the thought of all the history in Tassie.

Those photos look awesome Lolly, I think you've pretty much inspired me! Its still a tough call, F1 in Dubai or this. Of course this is the cheaper alternative.
