    Thumbs up

Leather usually is one of the hardest wearing materials around but it still doesn't mean that you can treat it like shit. After a long winter (or 4) of riding around in (mostly) water-proof Dririder gloves, they're in a bit of a need of a clean... on the inside, if you know what I mean.

    They are starting to smell!

Can I just bung em in the old front loader with a bit of woolmix (I've heard this is good for leather) and put it on a quick cycle?

Or am I better off trying to hand wash the buggers? They can't be turned inside out, cos they're chunky, with large velcro strips and wiper blade for getting rain off the visor, etc.

I've washed mine in a bucket of warm water just using laundry detergent - agitate them a bit in the bucket, leave them to soak for a bit, agitate some more and then hang them out to dry.

I had a job cleaning gutters at all the schools, and we wore these cotton lined golves with the waterproof plastic stuff on the outside. During the summer months (we had to clean gutters then too, cos its a fire hazzard) it gets fucking hot on the roof, and your hands sweat like crazy in those things, That smell was impossible to get off your hands, not matter how much soap and scrubbing you used. Was horrible eating your lunch with smelly hands.

As for cleaning leather, maybe take them to a drycleaners and ask what they can do for you? They probably have some dry chemicals to put in there. And if they fuck your gloves up and they come back half the size, you can hit them up for a new pair.

Have you washed them yet? I was just remembering the great job bi-carb soda did on my youngun's shoe funk! I was surprised how well it worked. I guess just sprinkle (the whole box ) in there, leave to work it' s magic, then shake out. Try it, might make the job easier.

There are many ways to get semen out of clothing articles.. *cough*

As above, soapy warm water and use a pipe cleaner (circular brush or equivelant) to clean out the fingers as, like you've stated, you can't turn them inside out.

Also, use some leather protector to finish off the job as soap will dry the leather out and could cause it to break or fray. Hope it helps!
