    How to pass the pits?

I'm just after a list of things for a motorcycle to comply by in order to pass an inspection. I tried searching but no idea what terms to use.

Sorry if it's right in front of my eyes.

    Cheers.

Hey that's a good idea actually. Do they still have those books that play sounds with a mini db meter to check the noise levels of the exhaust in the book.

I guess there's not much to look for except the obvious. How about two strokes? Will they be more strict?

Off the top of my head,

    Indicators.
    Headlights, both high and low.
    Brake light.
    Number Plate Light.
    Rear Reflector.
    Front and Rear Brakes.
    Legit chassis/engine number.
    No Loose bodywork.
    Visible Speedo.
    Idiot lights (turn signals etc)
    Tyres.
    Fluid Leaks.

Granted the above, and the bike is presentable you will pass.

If you have modifications they may require you to get a permit.

Is a rear reflector mandatory? I guess that's an easy fix.

Do they check dB levels of the exhaust? I hear they're pretty lenient with bikes. Do they even take the bike for a spin?

    Really? That's it?

I hope the bike I'm hoping to get won't be hard to get a pass. Thanks for the tips.

If the bike was factory fitted with one, it should have one.

They can, yes. Depends on the examiner. Also depends on the examiner.
