I don't normally have any problem with the popo but today.... different story
Well today I was coming back from work along my trusty route of Canning Hwy and left onto Berwick. The intersection of Berwick and Canning Hwy has got some roadworks going on, so traffic was deviated around it. I wanted to avoid cagers acting like idiots and chopping and changing lanes and in doing so, put myself at risk of a "sorry, I just didn't see you, you came out of nowhere" incident, so I thought I'd hang a left onto a no thru road/one way street (ie you could go up to a point, but then the rest was blocked off so as to only allow one way traffic) before the intersection of Berwick, only to have some police farce members/c*ntstables pull me and over and ping me $100 and 3 demerit points.
I can live with $100 but the 3 demerit points is ridiculously excessive - before anyone says it, I have my full complement of demerit points so it's not like I am worried because I am treacherously close to losing my licence, it's just excessive - I mean that's 1/4 of the available demerit points.
The other thing that shat me off was it was just so opportunistic - they must have been in need of some doshola from innocent citizens - I mean it's a one way street for farks sake.

Reason: cos i put no thru road instead of one way street - d'uh

That's comparable to what the cuntstabulary did me for on Wednesday. School zone, without being labelled on the road as 40, and construction (not road works) going on, so fenced off areas and signs obscuring the school zone sign. Normally a 60 zone. Pinged going 66. 3 demerit points, $300. 4 days before I'm off my P's so it's costing me an extra year's license fee on top of that (meaning that because of it I actually had to pay my renewal now). 3 demerit points for 66 km/h. That's gotta be a world's record for most exorbitant speeding penalty. It's not like they were oblivious to the construction fences obscuring anything either; they were hiding behind one of them (with their hi-vis vests).
And to put icing on the cake, he congratulated me on my emergency stop. Y'know, the emergency stop where I took my time stopping and changed down while still moving, as he waved me down to pull over. Has he never seen a car built in the last 10 years stopping or something?
Edit: Female copper with him was taking notes. I think he was teaching her how to deal with murdercyclists or something, and was thoroughly disappointed at being unable to elicit any belligerence from me.
Double edit: Don't get me started on the list of things I've been pulled up on. Half of those happened before I even got my bike.

they're always sat there, watching for people speeding up to that intersection.
they could have been nice and cautioned you though, maybe the roadworks made it harder for them to hit their quota...
did you actually go through the no thru way bit or did they see you heading that way and nick you? soon as seeing a no thru sign and cops i would have hung a u-turn with "whoops wrong turn-off", nothing to nick you for then

Good ol Street View to the rescue . Ah ok. So did you pass that island where it's one way? If you hadn't past the island yet, you should have said you didn't know it was one way till you turned down the street.

I got done in exactly the same spot about 2 months ago, I bet it's the same copper.
Handy hint: next time turn left before the no entry sign and go down the driveway, it comes out at the next cross street.

yes, I did.
Turned off Canning Hwy, though 'bugger, no entry sign'. Had a look around, it was 8pm on a Sunday night, and snuck through the 50m of road until the next intersection. Next thing there was an unmarked commonwhore with a disco behind me.
Don't have tits to show off, and can't blame anybody else but me, so I had to cop it. But yes, 3 points seems a bit much

Yeah, and? How do I guarantee I win even if I'm in the right? And is it worth the x hours out of my life, and me having to take a holiday from work, to do it?
Just because it can be pursued in court doesn't mean I'm interested in doing so. This is at least my 30th speed camera, my second speeding ticket (first was a cop hiding behind a bus stop on a 50 road that pinged me doing 58), and my first loss of demerit points, in 2 years of driving, so it's not like the demerit points are running out any time soon. (Actually, fingers crossed my license renewal to 6 extra points overrides the 3 penalties lost; is that hoping for too much screwup in their system?)

Pretty much.
Man up, pay the fine and take the points.
Why are you even complaining?

Crime... oh please.
I went through there this morning with a few construction workers diverting traffic through. They didn't seem to mind.
I went on the left hand side of the 'no entry' sign with my hazard lights on at walking pace (just in case if there was a copper). Infact, I saw a copper there last night pinging cangers trying to go through. I suppose that if there was a cop there you could get off your bike, turn it off, and push the bike along the footpath and back onto the road and go on your way. Edit: Not sure if this would stop the cuntstable giving you a pineapple but your argument in court might hold .
Thanks for the driveway tip Barfy.. I will have to check it out.

P Platers are allowed 12 points from the word go my friend. I am also a P plater (get off them on wednesday). Researched it and stuff, we are allowed to gain 12 points just like every other driver/rider.
