the main problem with any of these concept electic vehicles is their limited km range before needing to be recharged....but could always be used by the cafe racers to go between coffee shops

Taz- It's like the electric cars. They're built to serve the daily needs of most commuters. Anything more is obviously better, but not necessary.

This is a lot more like the specs I mentioned an electric bike would need before I'd think about getting one. If after the limited run they are able to produce them cheaper and sell them locally along side the scooters, I'll be interested.

The only problem with these things is again the noise. I saw an electric scooter yesterday, the only noise you can really hear from a distance is that of the tyres contacting the road surface, which gets drowned out pretty easily by a car.

mount a dummy exhaust with a speaker mounted in it and an MP3 player, playing all of your favourite superbike sounds.....

the concept is good, but i'd need more range and the last thing i want is to be pushing a bike off the side of the freeway hoping to find a power point.....

they need to incorporate a generator in there somewhere, it would be like plugging a power cord into itself for infinite power.

We got gf's dad an electric push bike for christmas and I was looking at the pedal section and it looked like there was a smallish generator there and got all excited thinking you could charge the battery up if while you pedalled, turned out it was just some safety thing, so I was a little saddened

Problem is, you're asking for a perpetual motion machine of sorts... Can't happen. You couldn't get a generator powered by the electric vehicles motion able to sustain enough power generation to keep the vehicle powered for perpetuity. Too much energy loss in mechanical friction, air drag, heat etc.

Edit: oh yeah, forgot to mention, the generator is parasitic. They rob power. oh shit gotta go.

    Bingo Fez.

Perpetual motion. If you can figure it out Kim gimme a call and we'll talk about some business. But given the worlds brightest minds say it's impossible at the moment.....

One possible way would be to use a small petrol motor to run the alternator/magneto. But this requires more weight and so a bigger electric motor to push it and therefore more electricity needed.

Alternatively, Nuclear powered cars. -News Brisbane: "There was a vehicle collision at the corner of tonkin Hwy and Welshpool Rd today in Perth. We Will miss perth....."

Mmmm hydrogen motors. Nothing like a car that runs on water. Now if only we could somehow get the oil companies to give up the plans for hydro engines that they bought/killed for/stole from thier designers...

I'm the noob you all pwn!
