but still alive.
was travelling down bagot road in subi, and some dumb ass cab driver pulled out without looking. i swerved to avoid him, but then a car about 20m further up pulled over and stopped to turn right. i had no where to go, got on the brakes as hard as i could and clipped the back of the stationary car. flipping me over the front of the bike and landing on my left shoulder which made a crunch and a pop sound (ouch) then i slid down the road a bit, but on my left flank my jacket rode up a bit so i got a nice dinner plate sized oiece of gravel rash.
i got up and limped to the side of the road, while some fuck head started abusing me and told me to move my bike. most pain in my life. ambos and cops arrived in less than 5 mins (very impressed) although the cabby tried to make a run for it, but bystanders stopped him and grabbed his details.
i went to charlies and got given every drug under the sun... which did nothing at all. got xrays - dislocated shouler and crushed rotator cuff as well as whatever has happened to my ligaments and muscles.
still in a shitload of pain they are about to put my shoulder back in so give me more drugs. i couldnt feel anything.... oh, that's right because i had so much i stopped breathing and had to be revived (doh!) woke up an hour later said i wanted to go home to rest, then a little while later they released me and i was home in bed by 10:30. now i've got a 6 week min holiday off work, possible surgery plus rehab.
but i'm happy, and thankful it wasn't worse. only 1 doctor lectured me about motorbikes, but i told him it's a decision i've made and didn't need his opinion about it, and would appreciate if he could just do his job.
i haven't seen the bike yet, and dont know where it is, and couldn't care either... hopefully it's a write off.
but people, just use this as a reminder that what we do is dangerous and to be alert at all times.
kwakas.
