    LED question

Silly question and i am expecting many piss takeing ansers.
I am planing to put LED indicators on my bike , i was wondering of the efects of not changing the relay, i know that the flash will be faster. This might possibly burn out the relay early i guess.
aside from that any outher side efects .Maby not so kind on the dash ???
I do like the flat out flash efect.

it turns your bike into a yellow sticker magnet, for starters.

I have small led's on the R1...they flash double time..they are kinda too small...only have them cause them came on the bike.

First time pulled over on it on Sunday night...didn't say anything about the size/flashing speed of my indicators but did fine me for my lack of fender.

Honestly dude it probably isn't worth it with the cops these days.

It just makes you an easy target for the popo. The indicators must flash at a rate of 60 flashes per minute.

Something like this will do the trick if you cant be naffed or dont know how to build one yourself: LED Indicator fast flash problem.Load Ballast Resistor on eBay (end time 01-Aug-09 01:16:21 BST)
    If you can... you MUST!

Take a 0-1K potentiometer, put in circuit, adjust till you get the right flash rate, measure resistance, buy 10W resistor of that value.

Mine failed with a flash rate of 75 flashes per minute. As apatheticend suggested, fit the right 10w resistor and its all ok. For long term, get the right led flasher. Caution: too small a resistor will result in it getting super hot.

After having been issued with a yellow sticker twice, I finally got sick of it and sold mine. Even though I had a LED flasher to make them work properly.
The relay cost about $35 or so.

A mate went bulbs to LED + eliminator on his 00 R6.

Indicators flashed more quickly and also, more importantly, not as brightly when the engine wasn't revving a bit.

It was actually really hard to see that he was indicating when stopped at an intersection...

Flasher fixers are easy to get/make though...
