You were looking a whole world better shape yesterday arvo compared to a few weeks back when you were stricken to your back.
Taking it very easy, i can see you heading home.... but obviously still many months of recovery still ahead as you pointed out.

Best of luck over the next day or 2 while you still have the nurses chasing after you. Dont forget to demand one last sponge bath

Hope the video's of the new road Stoney showed us on Sunday give you something to look forward too.

The doctors gave me the ok, so I'm going home tomorrow lunchtime.
I will be getting in home physio and o/therapy for the first 4 weeks then I should be fit enough to make my own way to outpatients to continue physio etc for as long as it takes to get the use of my right hand back.

What great news Mark...so glad you got to go home before the new year.
You might have to put up with a few visitors with noisy bikes at your place tho.
Get your addy to Garry or Brett mate and we'll see you soon.

I'm progressing well (thanks for asking), I can get both arms above my head now and nearly clench a fist with the right hand. Still going to be a while before I get all the strength back in my arms/shoulders and hand.
I've been checking the forum and the photo's are awesome, it looks like everyone had a ball in Bridgetown and stayed safe, well done . I was hoping to get clearance to drive before last weekend so I could gatecrash the balcony, but unfortunately I have to wait till the 6 of March unless there are any cancellations . Just to piss me off a little more I was also told they are going to suspend my R class until after I can do a practical test at a local licencing centre (also at my cost), until then I won't be allowed to ride a bike again . I'm not expecting to get enough strength back in my arms/shoulders and hand to ride properly again till maybe April .
Anybody would think I'd done something really wrong to loose my licence, but apparently they automatically suspend it for medical reasons when you have a spinal injury as some injuries are considerably worse than than mine, sh*t I was lucky. I just hope I haven't picked up too many bad habits over the last 30+ years on the road or I could have trouble getting it back .

Hi Mark, I only saw this post from Gary tonite, but i,m sure we have been on a ride at some time.
The latest weekend to Bridgetown (Feb) went off really good, with no stone damage to the bikes or other bad stuff.
And there is lots of video of the ride as there was maybe at least 3 cameras on the weekend.

Mmmm haven't seen that one yet, I am really missing my wheels and hope to get back on two wheels soon too.
Just pushing the young blokes dirt bike out to service it has tempted me, but don't think I'd be able to hang on yet if powerband kicked in. I'll probably go out and ride his a few times before I attempt to get back on the road again.

Slow but steady wins the race Mark. Sounds like you are doing great. If you cant ride down next time, drive. And when you are able to ride, consider accompanying the flowers smellers for your first ride back - would love to have you along. Heavens knows we need some more oldies to keep them young uns in line.........

I am certain he will take it in the context it was intended and I certainly wouldn't see Mark as a man who would clench his fist toward a woman.

I got my licence back on Tuesday, went out and bought a bike Thursday, probably a little rushed but picked up a genuine 09 Repsol CBR with aftermarket fairings (not genuine anymore) and low kms.
    08032012039.jpg
Went out for a ride last night and was taking it really easy, but I still don't believe I'm ready , can't use any power and felt very vulnerable when entering off a giveway sign as I can only turn my head 90 degrees and had trouble seeing what was coming without letting go of the right hand. Might have to wait a little longer and work on the neck with the physio, but at least I'm getting there.
