The main reason crims get away with stealing your shit

Because arsehole fucking pigs waste all their time and energy doing this shit:

No wonder there is such a low level of respect for the maggots in this country.

Nope.. The main reason is the court system is to soft and wont punish offenders to the level required to stop them re offending. Because they have had a harsh upbringing or wont have a chance to succeed in life etc etc.

But that wouldnt make a good story for the Brainwashed ACA/Today tonight masses.

As much as it would suck getting put through whats happened in that video. Everyone who modifies a car or bike knows the risks of getting caught and defected. As much as the tactics of the coppers are shithouse "Cruising" around hot spots to show off you're loud exhaust and swing your dick around trying to be cool is asking for trouble.

Fozzy, go read some of the recent threads, including the ones where pigs have the names and addresses of people who stole shit/broke shit and do nothing about it.
The courts have dick all to do with it. Cops don't even follow up, arrest or charge anyone. Pig laziness is the problem. They'd rather do this sort of pointless exercise and look like they do some work than do their fucking jobs.

There is no point arguing with you as I have seen your rants in other posts.

But I will say this. Sadly for the police it is not as simple as walking in to someones house and going hey can I have that stolen car/bike back thanks. The law protects the criminals and does not punish them effectively. This is not a fault of the police. It is a fault of the legislators and the legal system in Australia as a whole.

Absolute cop-out. Cops don't pursue these things. Period. If they did, maybe they'd have more support from the public, and hence legislators.

Sorry Resist I have to disagree with you, after i had my house broken into the police came, took fingerprints etc and i got several calls from them letting me know what was going on and where they where up to. Including that they had caught, arrested and charged the guy and given the value of what he'd stolen from my house was going to be looking at a nice stint in Jail.

Low life Criminals dont have money or care to pay fines, hence there low life criminal's ripping off middle/high class of people.

(not talking about your Drug lords here)

Middle/high class semi law abiding citizens have jobs and some money that is easier to extract come the fines time,

Why would you want to chase a bum for a DVD player when you can catch a guy driving his hotted up GTO phase 3 who has the funds to pay a fine of $500+ or more,

    Simple ecconimics = more cash

Not the best veiw but a realistic one.

Given the 2 Black & White arguments we are seeing here...
Perhaps it's part column A and part column B??!!

I'm still waiting for the police to follow through on their promise to come and take my statement but I have little faith in the courts dishing out a fair and just punishment that will deter the turds-in-society with a real, meaningful punishment.
Both arms of the Judiciary are bound by too many do-gooders(think of the children) and too many Knee-jerk politicians(Knob Johnson springs to mind) with their own agendas...then there is the apathy in our society(cue SYLO) that allows that to be the case.

What the cops did there was very wankerish.

I can see why it makes your blood boil and how you would feel like your being treated like a criminal just for being interested in cars and changing things to suit yourself.

XY Falcons were released from the factory with a pedestrian killer out of the bonnet and probably a very similar Db sound level.

The reporter has obviously never been to a "car enthusiasts" wedding. To not do a burnout at a wedding is considered offensive among my peers.

    Its all good.

While I don't agree with Resist so much (I prefer stats and real figures on what the police are doing as opposed to making judgements based on an ACA story) I don't agree with the 'locking them up for longer' point either mainly because nearly every study ever done shows this is ineffectual. I think (because I'm no expert) that some of the things that do work are:

    1) Dealing with the underlying issues (drugs, broken homes, lack of community responsibility etc) which is generally cheaper than lock-up;
    2) Making offenders accountable for their actions directly i.e making them work for and pay off any replacements etc, or cleaning the rubber off the road :p
    3) Empowering communities and community leaders with the ability to intervene before problem children become problems, by raising their concerns directly with police and / or social workers etc
    4) Remove the stigma that exists and is enshrined in law, around intervention etc. This whole "we can't do anything until they break the law" is hogwash.
    5) Ban sensational, non-factual 'news' and 'current affairs' from our TVs etc. This crap only drags society down.

the penalty when they go through court is generally a fine?

if you don't have enough money which is your driving force for stealing stuff what effect is a fine supposed to have?

is it supposed to encourage you to steal more stuff to keep the economy stimulated so you can pay your fines at $3 a week?

or is it supposed to give the impression of being a deterrent like speeding fines, so the government can accumulate wealth while giving the impression of actually caring?
Do you remember the good old days before the internet?

when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.

check out the blue subaru getting plenty of attention!

This is the point at which I stopped paying attention.

Could one of PSB's legal eagles please advise, is there any legal requirement for me to follow a cop car to a destination if requested? (In WA I mean...)

Nice rides they got out there in the eastern states. Nice to see police being ocupied by important things. When you call one out for a domestic disturbance there never seems to be anyone in the area, but if its a hoon then omg its like SWAT responce. -.-

Until I read this thread I didn't realise that the Police and other public servants work on commission. Why else would they be doing this, right?

If they're just fucking pigs, then next time you need assistance call your local car/motorcycle enthusiast club, or you could post it on here!

Its a hell of a lot easier to fine for speed/noise/farting/parking/littering and get some got stats for the bureaucrats involved than it is to actual charge the criminals you catch. Catching criminals costs $$ - fining people makes $$. Which one has the most incentive?

In the last month I have been booked for 'contravening an amber light', which was a bullshit charge made-up by an arsehole pig and was fined (which I now have to take to court), and I was also robbed - the filth caught the guy, but because he was not seen 'in the act', he walks away. Thats how its working. Innocent man - $150 fine, 2 demerits (and yes, I was innocent. I'm happy (almost) to accept a fine if I am in the wrong). Criminal - walks away.

Whether its the police, or the courts or the government - something is fucked up here. Something is fundamentally wrong. This may be due to the pressures of the job, or the way their system works.

The police investigating the crime were far more professional than the cop who pulled me over by the way.

As I've said in other threads - the police are actively covering up and changing stories to victims of crime so they are not forced or under-pressure to pursue things that they (the police) feel will be pointless.

    Is this right? No.

See, this sort of story is what you pig-apologists need to get through your thick fucking heads. It's the cops who decided not to pursue the bloke, even though he had the fucking ipad in his hand.

Did the officer at 1.10 go through the props box to get his Glenn Hughes cap?

Haven't seen a cop wearing one of those since Hawke was PM.

This argument comes up a bit. I guarantee you the cops are not at the top of my 'people to call in a serious emergency' list. They might officially be the least consistent, least reliable, least personable public service we have.
