    Mods to a DRZ SM

Given that I'm going to be buying new indicators and EDGE II tail light for it, I have started to wonder about a stroker kit.
Has anyone given it a try? From memory most push it up to 440cc instead of 400 at stock.

Has anyone who has tried it found it to affect reliability? Or is the extra 40 even work the cost of the item plus the install?

    Cheers fellas!

    Matt

Someone on here has a 440 BB kit, cant seem to remember/find their username.

My CRF450 has the 490 Athena kit in it and its defiantly noticeable. Worth it? well thats personal. The 490 BB kit for the crf is $750, when you consider the cost of just doing piston and rings (easy $300 on parts) it does seem worth it. Although i am considering going from the 490 to a hi comp 450 in the crf just so i can be in the same class as Shadow78.

Only thing with the DRZSM is you might need the 41mm? carb which will add $600ish.

Hmmm looks like I may need to do a bit more research.
Cheers Rich, I'll hit up Taint.

Just wanted to add to this thread instead of starting a new one, been looking at getting some more power out of my DRZ as well. What would be the best carb to go for, eventually i'll go big bore but I'm just looking at doing the modifications one at a time. At the moment the bike has K&N filter, Yoshimura RS-2 exhaust and that's it for power. Has a few other visual mods.

Sell it and replace it with a ~600cc motard if you want reliability or a 450 if you want awesomeness!

PS. Not all ~600ish cc motards are reliable but most are.
