The owner must have visited Bali recently ... seen whole families on scooters over there...madness. At least the owner has installed a baby seat ... perhaps the baby seat is for a midget pillion?

In a perfect world I think it would be great to able to take your bub around with you on a scooter. The only reason It's a bad idea is because of the risks of the poor drivers on the road. People have had baby seat on bicycles longer than I can remember and look at the fuss them being on the caused on a thread here. I can't see any good reason why they can't share the road even with four bikes across a lane. Simply another road user that people should learn to deal with and show caution instead of getting angry and frustrated... much like motorbikes hmmm....
I think It's a lovely idea and wish the rider and kid safe travels.

I saw 4 teenagers on a 50cc scooter thursday night, 2 guys, 2 girls. the girls had helmets. Pretty funny, stupid, but funny.

Just got back from Thailand and saw far, far worse. One favourite was the kid, barely able to stand by himself, standing up between two adults holding on the driver for balance. A common site was a small dog on the seat with his paws on the dash. There was a girl, probably barely a teenager, carting around her 4 friends on a semi-automatic scooter. They were loving it. Not too sure about the side-saddle riding craze though! Half of the riders are female as well, it was great to see and hopefully inspiration for my GF to get off her ass and get a license.
They are basically born on bikes over there and of the seventy million cars/trucks/bikes/scooters/buses/bicycles we saw on the roads I saw only one accident. Incredible

Come to think of it, saw my first Silverwing on the road the other day... It was kinda creepy. Saw an old Goldwing turning off Tonkin, then like two minutes later a new looking Silverwing heading in the opposite direction to me.
Think I saw this in the cbd a little while ago. Hopefully its just for show...
