    My Predicament (New Bike Questions)

    Hey all

I am currently on a restricted license with about 5 months remaining. I have been test riding a few bikes and find that the GSXR 750 suits me best. I want to buy a new bike to have piece of mind that it has been broken in correctly etc and i have the funds available (no loans or finance required).

The problem is i really hate the 09 750 colour options and am not going to fork out for something i don't even like the look of. I see a deal selling them for 16000 Drive Away which i thought was very reasonable.

Basically want to know what my options are from here?

(PS: I don't really have a person that could be a frequent shadow.)

    Thanks

Buy an '08? Or get it repainted?

I'm sure a lot of dealers will be trying to get rid of their '08 stock. Or maybe talk to a dealer.
    Feels good man.

Simple re-paint it, I paid $1500 to have my ZX636 painted gold/silver cos I didn't like the colours.

I bought an 07 GSXR with 1350 on the clock cos I didn't like the 08 colours, I think you'll find that most people run there bikes in properly and I don't think it makes much of difference anwya

Write to Suzuki, demanding that they re-release the 2009 GSXR 750 in colours that are to your liking, or they have lost a potential customer.

I'm sure they get that all the time.

Who gives a fuck about the colour its not like its pink or something. You are more then likely to drop it and then you will have no choice then to repaint it.
    out of order

Wait 5 months and see if suzuki do any decent 09 colours?

But yeah, if you can find a low-kay 08, i say go for it.

For someone to *kill* a new bike with under 5000km on it (which should be easy to find)... i don't think its possible without crashing it. They are mechanically tough.

The 09 colour scheme is similar to that of the 09 Gixxer 1000.

Not digging the poofy baby blue colour ><

Repaint it or get another bike. Otherwise the "poofy baby blue colour" may well suit you.

5 months to go on an R-E and nobody available to be a regular shadow?
Either the bike will sit there unused or he needs a shadow.

No ifs, buts or maybes about it.

If you have to get an 08 ... Id see about getting one "put aside" for you.
Some say he eats sidchrome for breakfast

Some say he only showers on even days of the week

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

All we know is he's Hewie.

Hmm... just thinkn maybe u should wait the five months out... then it will be 09... meaning some people will still have new 08 stock they will wana get rid of and u will probs be able to make a better deal... Plus then its not sitting in your shed tempting you...

Yeah i have decided to wait, i think its was a bit silly to decide on a bike before i have ridden one. I sat on the few the other day, most comfortable for me was the 1k Fireblade believe it or not. Anyway only thing to do is wait, thanks for all the replies though!

Sitting on a bike and riding it are two completely different things.
I don't think you can conclusively decide how comfortable a bike is just by sitting on it.

Wait till you take some test rides..

    New Fireblade looks fucking awesome.

Boxx is right, can't be certain of how it is until you ride it. Have found though that if I hate it when it's sitting still, riding it doesn't help, though...
