    non scratching keyrings

    Hey,

Does anyone know of any keyrings that will keep the house key and whatnot from scratching up around the bike keyhole.
I'm looking for something possibly like a small leather pouch keyring where the house keys sit in.
right now I'm just using a rubber keyring that I try to keep the keys on so they dont keep scratching the paint, but they come off every now and then and start scratching away.

    Cheers

dude, paint scratching aside, for the integrity of the lock you should only have your bike key in the lock with no other keys attached (except for the obligatory PSB keytag ). I have an attachment that clips on and off my main keyring - like those bogans who use them to walk around with chains around their waist

just get a cheap caribina from a 2 dollar shop. I only ever have my bike key and my house key with me when riding. caribina clips onto belt loop and you can just take off you bike key so that its in the igniton with nothing else

Im with Kristy-X, keep your bike key separate (apart from PSB key tag) and just keep your house keys in a pocket you never open until you get home.

only things on there are 2 keys bike/house and the keychain. didn't think of the clip off keychains, that might possibly work.

    Same as others here
I only have my bike key on the key ring
I have done this out of habit for years as I have a company car and others drive it, sometimes it would be out on a job when I wanted to go home, I had another vehicle but if I didn't have my house keys I was stuffed.
Also if I lose/have stolen keys or whatever they only get 1 key
I often wear a bum bag on the bike as my leathers have few pockets so the house key and my workshop(work) keys clip into that

    agree with Krusty-X and Deej.

no extra keys, they will always mark the area whether they are covered or not

I have the bike key on a keyring with soft PSB tag, all the other keys are on car keyring. Anything else on bike keyring is surplus to requirements. The tag simply makes it easier to avoid losing the key, given it allows it to get caught in my other keyring rather than falling loose.

The problem with having keyings and other tags is that it can wear out the lock. Had it happen on the CBR. My keys are still on the freeway somewhere.

If you must have other keys just get a baloon, cut the neck off and poke a hole on the bottom. Then it easy to wrap around the un-used keys and key tags.

    what kristy and deej said.

psb keytag, other keys on seperate keyring.

    benefits:
    - no scratched shit
    - if you leave your key in the bike (i think we've all either done or will do it at least once) - if its stolen, you only lose your bike key and can get back into your house

(no, i haven't lost a bike key yet, but i have been told that i left my key in it at least once or twice before)
    stuff

Like pretty much everyone else has said.

I have one key ring with my house and office keys, and then each car and bike has a seperate keyring for each key.

Lump of blu-tak under additional keys - no shake around scratching... push the key on to it flat - but as others have said - best to have minimal keys on your PSB-key-ring...

i have a keypad on the garage door. never need to bring anything except the bike key.
As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into.

I stole the clip off the end of lanyard and attached it to my keyring, I just unclip/clip the key back onto my keyring as I see fit... works fantastically - and way less bulky than a karabina or something

    one of these....
