Continuing from Dirty Sandchairs thread, i also got a package in the mail today .




So i purchased
-Alpinestar Smx plus vented boots
-Alpinestar rodeo denin jeans
-Thor socks






Firstly i put the denin in, very solidly built, feels like it would hold up fine in a crash although it isn't Kevlar reinforced. For what i can see it does have multiple panels in the critical areas of abrasion resistant denin, fairly thick too.
It is very mimble and has breathable material around the crotch area down to the knees going down the inside area. Perfect for summer as it cools your balls off .
It does come with knee and shin protectors although probably will have them out as the Boots will do the work on that and it would be not worth having on.Very happy with them.


Then the SMX Plus, What a boot, It looks amazing. First i put it in, i was very happy with the fit, i chose the right one for me. A bit of walking around and getting used to and it just feels so comfortable! wouldn't have thought it would be close to this comfortable.
Long thor socks and the boots were a perfect match, i would suggest anyone buying long boots to buy long but thin socks, they do make a difference keeping your feet cool.

I went quickly to the carpark to have a feel, I gotta say it is going to take me a while to get use to. Before this i was riding in vans volley shoes. Those shoes have to be one of the most mimble shoes out there and there is a fair shock from that to the SMX.

Other than the ''getting used to'' I'm very happy with the gear i bought. I has taken me more than 3 months to get enough cash to buy this and i only had one chance to make the right buy. Hours of looking around, reading reviews etc.

Hey guy, what's the deal with the Thor socks? Are they supposed to be cooling sorta socks or something?

I wish I had a decent pair of socks to wear under my boots.

They are nice thin socks, good for the airflow whichl ets your feet remain very cool and you barely feel them as they as so thin. I've tried putting the boots on with normal socks and it just doesn't feel near as comfortable and it starts to get hot.

These are great, i recommend!
