    The pic in todays paper

Is that trail bike in the paper today licenced? If not I dont see how a transponder would help catch that one. We even got the editorial!
I see they are still unconcerned about trailers, caravans, boats being towed above 100 but under 110 on country roads.

Nah, someone just didn't think through ordering all the forward facing cameras and now they have to do a cover up job.

'TAGS' will get the go ahed.

There's not really an argument against them, apart from the civil liberties aspect. The motorcycle hating public will see any resistance from the riders as a deliberate attampt to subvert the law and the 'why should they get away with it when we can't' attitude will prevail.

The MRA's tacit approval seals our fate!

Then after lunch on Friday, it'll be people.

Hey, it's all about saving lives people...geez. Just you wait, the road toll will drop by 50% as soon as these come in!!!

Eh, won't take long to find a get around anyway. Just need an electronics guru to mess with a tag and make it send a jumbled message.

meh ..the day I have to put one of those on the bike is the day I install half a dozen cameras on the bike and record every fucker on the road and hand it int to ACA and TT every week and then get them to ask what the police are doing about idiot drivers.

Im passed everyday on the way to work atleast a dozen times by cars doing 20/30 over.

    Shouldnt take long.
Some say he eats sidchrome for breakfast

Some say he only showers on even days of the week

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

All we know is he's Hewie.

My argument against them is that no one else will be forced to use them, so why should they be forced upon a minority road user group simply because of the actions of a few and the bigoted views of some media outlets and Police.

When you look at reported motorcycle crashes overall, not just fatalities, speed is a factor in around 9% of them - so where does this leave the whole 'naughty speeding murdercycle rider' stereotype?

So, imagine a future where all vehicles (not just bikes) are fitted with a similar system, which locks into a GPS tracking system & is able to tell what speed limit area you are in & what speed you're actually doing. Break the limit & it's an automatic fine mailed to your home address. With this system everyone would know that they are gonna get a fine every single time they speed (no exceptions, no excuses cause your not dealing with a real person now) - problem solved. No more speeding, millions of lives saved, Popo can get back to tackling real crime, pollies can all give themselves a pat on the back...

Oh, wait. What happens if no one speeds at all with the new system? No more cash cow. Maybe they can target some other dispicable crime (like failure to wear a helmet on a pushie).
