    Pitting a motor vehicle tips

    Hi guys,

I realise that this topic has been covered and i have searched and read through most of the threads.

I have an '08 Mitsubishi 380 that was yellow stickered in an accident on the 10th of december last year. The sticker ran out while it was getting fixed, and the plates were handed in.

It has been repaired and has new tyres (needed according to the yellow), I have a temporary movement permit, I have paid for my examination online and have the receipt for that too. I'm planning to take it to Welshpool on friday (my day off) and line up between 6 and half 6 in the morning to get it inspected and sorted.

Any tips/tricks to prevent this entire thing from being a headache would be greatly appreciated. Anything I may have missed or overlooked? I pretty much want to be done as fast as possible and over with.

    Thanks in advance.

I was at Welshpool a couple of weeks ago to get my bike licenced. I arrived a tad after 7 and there were only 3-4 cars and no one else arrived till just before 8. (It was the day after Australia day i was there so that may have changed things).

Only suggestion i can think of is when the assessor takes the car for a spin go inside and get a ticked to save some time waiting to pay the rego.

At the pits they'll make sure the original defect* is fixed and go over the whole car for other general stuff.

*in this case it's technically a new rego they'll just do a normal check, oil leaks, lights, windscreen wipers horn cv joints exhaust holes etc etc

just make sure it's in general good condition, being a newish car it should be fine - good luck

You realize you can now book a time to be inspected and u no longer need to go to lic centers as their are now lic mechanics all over the metro area that can do the inspection and have sticker removed.
