having been chased and booked for wearing a non AS approved helmet (ok, I am stupid for doing that) I searched and did not find the penaly (demerit points) for the offence.
How many does it carry?
any reliable info? -
cheers

Errrmmm....care to give us a little more info? First Ive heard of the popo busting someone for a non-AS lid...
Exactly the same as not wearing a seat belt...whatever that is.

Um - just out of idle curiosity- care to tell a story? I've never heard of anyone actually being pulled over for just the helmet, normally it's something they notice whilst chatting about something else...
And if I've got it straight, it's the same points/fine as for no helmet at all.

not using seatbelt is 4 points....Exactly the same as not wearing a seat belt...whatever that is.[/b]
However, FJ and Uncle Ho (MyFX) are 2 examples of people that dont fit this genre but fit into the forum well as well respected members.
You'd be the first one ever.
You have a Brutale, wtf you need to save a couple hundred bux on a lid for anyways?
Are your clown shoes AS approved?
Who chased you, Robocop? They're doing pretty well if they can spot the absence of an AS sticker on your lid. I'm assuming that we're talking a proper helmet and not a Darth-Vader costume helmet or some such thing.having been chased and booked for wearing a non AS approved helmet ....[/b]
The penalty is that same as not wearing a helmet at all, as any no AS is helmet - in the eyes of the law - is not helmet at all. Copper that booked you would have told you at some point.
Shenanigans.
lemme guess
a craft helmet?
a million, billion points.
I think you need to have a chat with ButtNekid

goes along what the copper said / implied ... if it is a helmet that would /could be approved, there is room for interpretation ...
mine wasn't - not arguing THAT point.
I just feel the pain of 3 points without the satisfaction of e.g. having gone 'very fast' or something like it.
and the net or the booklet of the the WA government state the points on helmets - can't find anything.
Seatbelts yes, helmets no.
As I said, I am not arguing right or wrong, I just rather not get the points ... if I can![]()

just a quick question along the same lines ...
hypothetical ... if i was on holidays in japan, and picked up an arai RX7, which is sold here as the RX7-RR, but it didnt have the AS sticker ... and was stopped by the cops riding here ... would i be fined too?
highly likely giant. im guess, but mainly because that sticker isn't there![]()
if thats true, how ridiculous ...highly likely giant. im guess, but mainly because that sticker isn't there[/b]
