Police bikes

Out of interest - some of the bikes now being used in the UK police 'services'

The first is an R1 used by Cumbria Police

The second is an R6 used by Cleveland Police

third is a Honda CBR 1000 used by Durham Constabulary

fourth is a Sussex Police Triumph Daytona 675

Almost worth joining up

The second is a Ducati 999 police bike used by Grampian Police on normal patrol duties!

Oh, to be a bike copper in the Grampian Police Force... lol wtf is that thing in pic 1? Is that just a suzi with sidecar with a big arse fairing built over the front? How much would it suck for the pillion in the car? lol "...flips coin to see whos riding..."

Sidecars are/were popular in the UK - the company Merlin makes sidecars for the road - think they sponsored the combo for trials with the police - so currently (I believe) it's undergoing normal patrol duties. And yes stock Suzuki. wouldn't get me into one of those things.

i wouldn't mind being chased by the ducati riding plod because you know that they will break down as soon as they comence pursuit

They don't carry the same shit in the uk - they have personal radios etc. the only major addition is the blue light 'pole dancing' pole - hence the increasing use of 'superbikes'. Most use lightweight flashing lights like whats on the CBR and R1. Take a look at the leathers on the rider of the Ducati.
