I'm writing from Le iPhone, so I will keep it short and sweet. My little rant for the week.

3rd time now, different bike shop, different suburbs. The way they think they KNOW the PSB community, and talk so low of us all.
Yes I will agree, there is some dickheads on here.
The dickhead riders (the Logies) & the dickhead typers (the Sookies).

But I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean EVERY SINGLE PSB MEMBER IS LIKE THIS!?

Does it not annoy anyone else? Or am I just being petty?
It actually frustrates me the way they bag PSB out and I feel like a nerd for stick up for the name haha

Really? I wont name the ones I'm talking about but all of them have instantly been like "stop riding with PSB" and everything else along those lines.

Get any large number of people together and sure enough there will be the dickheads, I have been a member for a few years and so far I have not met any, however those who have met me may not think the same

It's more of, when they find out I'm associated with PSB, they try to talk me out of it, and tell me about all the dangerous dick heads on the rides. One even mentioned the hoons on the learner rides and how they are run incorrectly....

ive only done one ride with PSB, it was the Blue Haze Ride, it was a great day, i had no dramas with the other riders, they were a good bunch!

At the end of the day, you'll probably end up finding that PSB is such a large community that these people telling you not to ride with it, are the knobs that aren't invited back to rides after they come out once and the rest of the group can see how bad they themselves are...

Yes. Psb is seen in a few ways.

There's the 'are you on Psb' types who ask because them the instantly feel they know you.
There's the 'you must be on Psb' who feel that you would fit right in with their own stereotyped view of the forum
Then of course there is the 'what's Psb' types... Speeds for itself that one.

Personally I would take their advice, review it and then decide for yourself what you want to do and which way you want to view it.

In a forum of however many thousand people you are going to obviously get some differing skill levels and accepted levels of safety and maturity. By default 50% of the riders here are below average skill level.

Well, umm.
What I always found a lot better for increasing my riding skills and road craft was to find a group of riding friends you are comfortable riding with and ride with them. Leave the social stuff for the end of the ride.
Also, in a smaller crew you can evaluate the skill levels a lot easier and gain trust instead of wondering who is going to fall off next or if some muppet is going to spear into you.

I've experienced what you say at a couple of places, particularly when I first signed up and was excited to be part of such a community. Although a big plus 1 for 5 Star Yamaha. They understand that for better or worse, PSB is a captive market interested in their product and so approach us in an appropriate manner (I think) when i mention the PSB reference. As mentioned by someone else above - you get a big enough group of people and soon enough every personality type will become represented, it's just plain 'ole human nature.

If the shop knows how to ask for your business, then they'll get it. If they think they are better than you (quite possible if you are just visiting to kick tyres) then IMHO opinion "F**k 'em". There isn't a single shop in this sleepy little town who's sh!t doesn't stink, regardless of industry or market.

PSB likely gets it's (undeserved rap)from the friday night rides, all the talk of 'F**k the Po-Po' and cannonballl runs. Plus the unrelenting ragging on those who act like twats on here or on rides.

They are probably jealous that they aren't welcome enough in this commnity, or don't understand it. So they try to ostracize it and hate on it.
