    R6 error code 18

Ok so I got this error today. There is loss of power and the bike starts to run hot. I did some googleing and I can see many ppl like me did have the same problem. The problem is exup valve that is sticking but no one really says how I can fix this. One of the guys are saying all you need to do is push a long rod down the pipe and free the valve. So I may try that Any one you guys can give me some help with this and just tell me waht I can do about it.

    Thank you

Also some of the ppl are saying just remove the exup but they don't really says what is the point in haveing it.

    Just an update.

I have fixed the problem. The valve was stock I just un did the nut and moved it about and it got unstock. Its working good as new.

Just seen your post BlackFZR thank you for your explanation now I know. I did look at the cables and the motor and it was all fine just a sticky valve.

The EXUP provides additional back pressure at lower rpm's, and give you better power/torq down low.

If it stays closed the whole time, you lose power as you almost completely lose any gas flow through the exhaust, so the engine just keeps getting hotter.

You need to isolate whether it is the exup servo motor that has died, or just a sticky exup valve/broken cable.
